In the end, they just couldn't do it! The NIT won. It proved just to
difficult to win the fifth road game out of the six. Has ANY team won 5 road
games (played on the opponent's home court) in any post season tournament?
So close, Lady Utes! So proud!
It was an amazing run by the Lady Utes! I watched them play and like the BYU
men's team, they fought to the very end but came up just short. It was a
great effort by both schools in the NIT this year though, and we are all proud
of that. So congratulations on a great job, Lady Utes!
A one point lead with about 30 seconds to go, then they proceed to turn the ball
over twice in a row. Had the game in the bag and then they handed the bag right
to the Dragons. Too bad they worked hard.
Great effort ladies. Keep your heads up!
Great job and made the State of Utah proud. Congrat on a great tourney
Who Am I Sir...I am not sure if anyone has won a tournament with a full blown
road schedule...and then with the final game in Philadelphia....at basically
Drexel's home court??? Hey...they did good...guess i wont
sweat the details...
Hey Baby, it was at Drexel's home court. The WNIT doesn't have neutral
locations or specific seeding, teams put in bids to play at home, and Drexel put
in a good enough bid to play at home throughout the tourney, and Utah did not.
Still doesn't take away from their accomplishment in winning it, but that
close of a game with the Utes that far away from home, you can't say it
wasn't a factor.
Nice run. You should all be proud regardless of the final loss. 5 Road wins in
tournament knock-out format is not a easy task and you did it! Good luck next
