This will be the 3rd album David Archuleta's management has released while
David is serving a 2-yr mission in Chile! The first two were mainly cover
albums recorded during the 10 weeks before David's mission and those two
were released in 2012: Forevermore (Philippines) and BEGIN (US). This 3rd album
during David's absence "No Matter How Far" is a pop album of songs
never released in the US and recorded in 2010-2012 before David's mission.
It contains 2 never-released original tracks, 3 of the most popular covers from
Forevermore, and 5 original pop songs that were only ever released in Asia
(including Everything and More, Wait and Notice Me). No Matter How Far is
available for preorder at most of the usual places including Amazon and Walmart.
David worked really hard before his mission to make sure his fans would have
music while he's away. BTW following DavidArchie on twitter - that's
David's account. his manager Kari tweets while David's on his mission.
We expect David to return in early April 2014.
How exciting that he can serve TWO missions - one as a full-time Elder, and
another as an emissary through music. Good on him!
Dear Dadof5sons: Double standard? What's wrong with a talented individual
using all his gifts to spread the gospel? I had a concert pianist for a
companion who shared his talent to show the positive side of the gospel to many
who would not otherwise have been interested. We still worked hard at
prostelying. Another set of polynesians in our mission used their native culture
to spread good will as well as the gospel. And we used scouting heavily to
promote mutual ideals. Our elders that were involved were not all from Utah.
Your son will have his chance--if not on his mission, then after.
I'm confused. Isn't he on a mission? How did he record this?
He couldn't have recorded all this before his mission? Releasing things
periodically to keep him relevenat while he's sidelined? Hello! Somehow I
don't think people not on a mission releasing his music are breaking any
type of rule.
For those asking when David recorded these songs - only 3 were recorded in 2012
before his mission (the 3 OPM song covers that also appear on his Philippines
album) and the rest were recorded 2010-2011. Many have already been released by
Sony in Asia in 2010 and 2011 but never released in the US. Two others were
recorded in 2010 for his 2nd pop album but never released anywhere. His management is releasing the albums while David is away. They have released
3 albums in David's absence and the first two were cover albums
(Philippines and US) and David recorded BOTH in the last 7 weeks before his
mission. This album is the third album.
