Beautiful story about Mrs. Call. Thanks so much for sharing!
Queenly, loving and stately are the words that best describe Lorna Call Alder.
She remembered me every time she came to visit her family in Vancouver. She had
a fantastic memory and told us tales about being in Mexico. We learned of her
death while wintering in Arizona, which somehow ties us to her memory. She will
be missed. Our warmest hugs are sent to Francis and Darlene and know The
Comforter will comfort them at their loss.
Lorna Call taught me Art for Elementary Teachers in 1970. I used concepts,
projects and ideas from that class my whole career. So interesting to learn more
about her life, especially about the creation of the library and her friendship
with Diego Rivera. One amazing woman and life!
Her son Francis was my bishop and stake president. I have now been his bishop
and stake president. The example she was to him, her influence of steady
consecration came through her son Francis, to me. Although I have heard her
testimony only once in person, I have heard it many times through Francis, and
now as a priesthood leader have shared this message with others. What a
wonderful woman who gave a tremendous legacy to many. I am happy she is able to
rest from her labors with God and her family. What a great example...!
