Great game guys! Watch out cal here we come!
I said it before and I will say it again, we have shown we can play with top 25
teams several times, only team in Utah with a top 25 win and the FIVE bet rpi
wins of anyone in the state. Thy said, we have the best chance of dancing. That's right, add up the best wins that byu, usu, and weber have
and we have FIVE better wins than any of them!PAC 12 and Utah
proud!Go utes! Beat cal tomorrow!
Chris, if you've jinxed this, I may never forgive you.
I'm smelling 'Final Four'! LOLExciting finish.
Congrats on the win.
After blowing a big lead late in the game Utah finally figured out how to make
plays down the stretch. Good win! Go UTES!!
3 wins from the big dance! We have a 3 game streak right nowIt may happen.
Chris: Well goody goody gumdrops for u. pac 12 is still a bad basketball
Sammyg- well, 3 in a row, and actually winning a conf. tourney game. I'm
wondering if USC is now the .2 in your little 10.2 drama?
Great win for the Utes tonight. They shot 39% and still were able to pull out
the win, which they haven't been able to do this year. They are learning
to win even when the shots aren't falling. 18/21 from the line played a
crucial role in that happening. Congrats Utah, looking forward to tomorrow
night vs CalGo Utes!!!
Looks like coach switched from "play to win" to "play not to
lose" down the stretch.Luckily, nobody told DuBois. Thanks for this
Chris BYou'd do well to quit directing every first comment of
yours to fans of every other school in the state. I'm getting more and more
convinced that you're really not a Ute fan at all, but are instead just
trying to give the real Ute fans a bad name.
How did the Coug's do against the Toreros? Oh that's right...On a brighter note.. The Utes had their ups and downs for sure but in the end
it's College basketball, you've got to know that it's going to go
down to the wire. Love it!
Great game. Is this team finally falling together? Looks like it. Now the
Runnin' Utes face Pac-12 Player of the Year Allen Crabbe. Hottest team
right now are the UTES. GO UTES!
Great game for the Running Utes! Three in a row. This one may have been gift
wrapped, but we'll take it. The Utes had some pretty good shooting
tonight. They really seem to have peaked at the right time. Keep
up the great work! GO Utes!
Finally a winning basketball team in Utah!
Great win for the Utes, congrats they deserve it.
What a way to end the season! Keep it going! @SammyG ChildI grew up in Bluebell and went to school in Altamont. Miss the Basin. Go Utes!
Utah's improvement over the season, especially in the last three weeks has
been impressive, BYU's degradation over the last three weeks equally
unimpressive. Utah on the way up, BYU on the way down.
Yeah, baby! One game at a time, guys.GO UTES!!!
I happy the Utes got the win tonight. It was nice to avenge the loss to USC
earlier this season. USC made some serious runs in the second half
but each time the Utes hit some critical shots to keep the lead. They have
learned to close out games which is something they couldn't do at the start
of the season. It has helped that they have played some tough
competition through conference play but I hope these wins at the end of the
season can give the young players some confidence going into next year. It
should help out with some recruiting as well.Good luck tomorrow
night against Cal.Go Utes!
Congratulations on a nice first PAC 12 tourney win for Utah, but lets not get
too carried away. We beat a 14-18 USC team missing its starting
center and backup big man, kinda like USC beating a 13-18 Utah team missing
Washburn and Olsen. If we don't be Cal tomorrow night, this
really doesn't mean much.
Great win for sure, but it's still vs the 7th seed team in the conference.
Keep some perspective. Very good chance it all ends tomorrow! Good for those
kids though. Something to build on for next year.@Chris BYou're delusional. Weber St has a much better chance at dancing than
your Utes, although I'm smelling a Beehive state shutout.
Utah wins it's conference tournament opener! The same can't be said
about BYU who lost it's first round game. hahaGreat game Utes!
Beat the Bears!
How far did BYU make it in the mighty wcc tourney?
As usual for our little friends on the hill, even Utah's first PAC 10.2
conference tourney victory ever...is all about BYU!No
win by our little brothers is ever complete without a comparison to their big
GO_COUGARS!Without your WCC transfer, the Utes would have been worse
than last season. Luckily for U, the mighty WCC took pity on the mighty weak
Utes and loaned U DuBois for a year.
@Jealous U"As usual for our little friends on the hill, even
Utah's first PAC 10.2 conference tourney victory ever...is all
about BYU!"Of course it's all about BYU. That's what
happens when BYU trolls infest the comment boards on Utah articles. Speaking of
that, why are you commenting here?
@Jealous of the U"As usual for our friends on the hill...
it's all about BYU!"Let me help you out here. If the
Portland Pilots came to every Utah article and commented about their superiority
and how we're irrelevant to them even though they probably read more
articles about Utah than their own team, we would smile, shake our heads, and
point out to THEM that they tripped over themselves in the first round of a less
talented and lower ranked conference. It would be embarrassing for them, but it
wouldn't make them more relevant. Unless your idea of relevancy is having
us respond to your obsession with us. Then I guess... congrats?Oh
and welcome to another article about Utah basketball.
not so brave sparrowpot meet kettleCheck out the
comments of your own resident BYU-hater who trolls every BYU article and who
opened this thread with a shot at BYU.Of course that's to be
expected from the kids on the hill; EVERYTHING our little brothers do MUST be
compared with BYU for validation.
I think that if the teams in the state of Utah had a tournament right now, the U
would have a pretty good shot of winning it all and beating BYU. That being
said, having to beat Cal, then Oregon or Washington, and then likely UCLA or AZ
is a much tougher task than Weber St. or USU have in front of them. Utah has as
good of odds as making it to the Big Dance right now as SUU has.
ssenhsillooffoeciovehtLet me help you out - your own resident troll,
Chris B, not only trolls every BYU article, he's often the first to
comment, so U can save your hypocritical lectures for another forum.e.g. "That's right, add up the best wins that BYU..."As for Utah's "ground-breaking" win, congrats; you barely beat a
14-18 team that was crippled from losing their starting center and his
backup.btw, Chris B forgot to include the worst 5 losses, compared
to BYU:#281 Sac St#239 CS Northridge#216 SMU#188
Wash St#180 OSUWhich probably explains Utah's lowest in
the state RPI:#70 BYU#96 Weber St#105 Utah St#167
@ Jealous U . . .Jealous, much???From one of your little
friends on the hill.
ImaUteFan"Jealous, much???"That U beat a
short-handed 14-18 team???Not really. Win the PAC-12
tournament and qualify for the Big Dance, then you'll have accomplished
something worth other fans being jealous about.
Hey, Riddles - I seem to recall that BYU LOST their first round tournament game
to a 16-17 team. Oh, and that happened to be their 2nd loss to the mighty
Torreos, right?Just sayin'.
ImaUteFanAt least the 16-17 team that BYU lost to wasn't
missing the player who terrorized them the last time the two teams met, as
happened with the Utes. Not only was USC playing with their starting
center, they were also playing without his backup; yet U still barely
survived.Nice win, but when you're given a bye, that's
what you're expected to do.
"Not only was USC playing with their starting center, they were also playing
without his backup"This is getting totally blown out of
proportion. Dedmon was a loss for USC, but Oraby proved to be the same presence
inside. Oraby has always been the backup, not Blasczyk. Blasczyk was a nonfactor
the entire season, he hardly ever played, didn't play in the game against
Utah, and wouldn't have played last night anyway. BYU fans that pretend to
know PAC-12 teams just because they read the newspaper are funny.
StGtoSLC"Dedmon was a loss for USC, but Oraby proved to be the
same presence inside."The problem with your spin is Oraby sort
of replaced Dedmon, but who replaced Oraby? In USC's 76-59
domination of Utah on January 12th:Dedmon - 28 min, 4/5 FG, 5/6 FT, 13
reb, 3 oreb, 13 pts, FIVE blksOraby - 11 min, 3/7 FG, 2/2 FT, 4 reb, 1
oreb, 8 pts, 0 blksTotal - 39 min, 7/12 FG, 7/8 FT, 17 reb, 4 oreb, 21
pts, FIVE blksIn USC's 3-pt 66-69 loss to Utah on March 13thOraby - 35 min, 8/11 FG, 2/2 FT, 10 reb, 2 oreb, 18 pts, 2 blksWith close to the same number of minutes for Oraby alone, as for Dedmon and
Oraby combined, the Trojans had 7 fewer rebounds, 3 fewer blocked shots (and who
knows how many fewer altered shots), 2 fewer offensive rebounds, and 3 fewer
points from their center, not to mention tireder legs at the end. USC losing
Dedmon was as devastating to the Trojans as Utah losing Washburn would have been
to the Utes.
Congratulations Utah on a gutsy win. It seemed like every time it looked like
the Utes were going to fold under the pressure, DuBois hit another big shot to
keep the Trojans at bay.Good luck tonight against Cal!
christy"only team in Utah with a top 25 win"Remind us again which Top 25 team U beat.Arizona and UCLA are the
only ranked PAC teams, and U haven't beaten either of them, unless, of
course, you've decided to start counting moral victories.
Whatsnu,Remind us again which Top 25 team U beat.That
would be #19 Oregon! Please keep up!
Whatsnu . . . the Utes beat Oregon last Saturday. The Ducks were ranked #19 at
the time.So there's your Top 25 win.
