Thanks for the update, but the article doesn't really tell us much more
than we knew last week.Is this a serious condition that could
severely impact Star's NFL career, or just something that will need to be
I still see this guy making a hundred million his career. You think this will
hold him down? Any doubters have another thing coming.
I didn't learn anything from this article really. Does anyone have an
actual update on his condition? Results of the tests that he got sent home from
the combine to have? @KVN/Hoff-Yes I do see it holding him down if
he isn't cleared to play he won't make 100 million.
As a BYU fan, I can't wait to see Star in the NFL. This is a temporary
setback. I agree with PAC man, no new info. With the U medical center so close,
why can't the DNews get an "expert" opinion instead of quoting the
USA Today? Step Up DNews.
PAC man,It could potentially be a big problem if not addrssed. Like
the article said, his ejection fraction is less than what it should be. As the
heart declines in pumping ability, it can lead to other failures (tissue damage,
brain damage, kidney failure), etc. If not enough blood can be pumped out,
oxygen will not get to other necessary parts of the body.If it is
found what is causing it, it could be fixed. However, many cases are
irreversible. Hope that helps a little.
Obama10 and PAC man, no new information will be released until Star's camp
allows it. The Trib published an article after talking with Dr. Petron about it,
but of course he couldn't release any personal information either, and said
just about the same thing here. It's usually not anything serious, but
until they find exactly what it was that caused the ejection fraction to be that
low, there really won't be anything to say about it, probably even if it
returns back to a normal range for precautionary reasons.
Remember when Jordan Wynn had shoulder surgery? In one interview he said he
couldn't talk much about it due to HIPPA privacy laws. I hope star is
smarter than Wynn and tells us details soon. Hope all is ok.
"I hope star is smarter than Wynn and tells us details soon."Why would a willingness to disclose your own medical details to the public be
smarter than a preference to maintain your privacy rights? Also it's HIPAA
(Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act).
Hoping the best for Star. And does anyone care about the typo mistake
between HIPPA and HIPAA?(crickets)
StGtoSLCStar has every right to keep his medical records
confidential, but if he is healthy, he's not doing himself any favors in
the up coming draft by leaving questions about his health unanswered. It may
sound cruel, but no NFL team is going to take a chance on wasting a high draft
pick and $ millions on a player with a bad heart.
@StgSLC, I wasn't meaning that a smart person would tell us his medical
condition. I was simply saying I hope Star is smarter than Wynn in
understanding HIPAA rules. Wynn didn't not tell details of his
condition due to his wanting privacy. Wynn said he couldnt talk about them as
he thought it was illegal due to the HIPAA rules. I was just pointing out
Wynn's "smarts." I hope Star can tell us more info soon, just
because I hope it comes back nothing serious. Again, I was just making fun of
Wynn being clueless.
Good luck Star. This may be a condition he's had for along time, yet still
maintaining a high level of play over the years. If that's the case it may
have a slight progression and he could could play at a good level in the NFL. If
it's a recent acquired condition, that will make things much tougher.-------sammyg, Generally when someone dishes out
an insult on these boards such as calling another person "clueless",
they can expect someone else on these boards to point out their mistakes as
well. Ergo, "HIPPA"' vs "HIPAA"---which was likely not a
typo, but a probable lack of understanding on the part of the poster. Irony. That's all.
"Symptoms of poor blood flow can include fatigue, shortness of breath, lack
of appetite, confusion"Maybe that explains the knock on him by
NFL scouts that he takes plays off and doesn't give it all on every play.
@NK84"@KVN/Hoff-Yes I do see it holding him down if he isn't
cleared to play he won't make 100 million."Maybe KVN/Hoff
is planning on paying Star the $100 million
@StGtoSLC"Obama10 and PAC man, no new information will be released
until Star's camp allows it"Good point and you can bet that
you won't hear much new on the subject unless it's good news until
after the NFL draft. Anything that confirms this is serious will further damage
his draft status.
@hedgehog So you now have inside info on what the NFL scouts say
huh. Source or you are just making things up as usual.
