Oh dear. Reading this brought tears to my eyes. What great courage
and love this young man and his family for the inspiration they have brought to
so many of us.We need to thank them for sharing their story with the
world. My thoughts and prayers will be with them.
When I went to bed last night, I checked to see if anything new had been posted,
I was sensing that Mitchell was in his final hours. I got up this morning and
read on Facebook that he had passed away last night. I just posted this article
on the FB site. I learned about Mitchell from an article a month or so ago in
the DN. Thanks for sharing about such a great young man and his courage and his
families courage and their strength.
My condolences to the family. My family wishes you the very best.
Inspiring family, thank you for your examples
Having lost our son seven years ago, my heart goes out to his family. Parents
should never have to bury a child. Support from others along with a lot of
prayer will help you get through the ordeal. You will be in my thoughts and
Reading this brought tears to my eyes. Somehow I had been hoping that someone
in medical research would find a way . . . We all owe Mitchell and
his family a big round of thanks for sharing their courage and faith with all of
Mitchell, what a sweet, wonderful boy. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the
Jones family. This boy's story has reminded me of what really matters and
makes me want to be a better dad.
I have been following Mitchell's journey for a while and have been so very
humbled and touched. Mitchell has made me want to be a better mother, wife,
sister daughter and saint. Thanks go to the Jones family for being so willing to
let us into their lives at such a tender time! You are all loved!
Thank you so much for sharing Mitchells story and his family. My heart sank when
I read of his passing on the fb page. May God bless his family. There are truly
an example of what a family should be like. In just the short time Ive been
aware of his situation it has wanted me to realize that our loved ones can be
gone in such a short time and We need to show love to our family and friends any
time We see them. Our prayers are with you and Thanks for sharing Mitchell.
PS. your title is wrong. Mitchell's journey has not ended! He has just
started a new leg of it. One filled with lots of service and missionary work. He
has joined God's Army full time!!
Dear Jones family - I am so touched by your quiet example and beautifully
written words as you shared your experience of Mitchell's earthly life.
What true eternal love your family has! May God's peace and comfort come
upon you all as you say "see you later, for now" to your Mitchell.
I logged onto the Facebook page this afternoon after I learned of
Mitchell's passing. The pictures of Mitchell in his final hours with his
mother were so tender, I began to sob as my heart aches for this family.Surely Mitchell is safe and free from pain now. May his family be
comforted at this difficult time. What an example for us all.
My condolences to the family. This strikes close to home as my son has this
condition. One correction to the article: Average life expectancy has increased
into the late twenties and will likely soon be in the early thirties. This makes
Mitchell's case more poignant. Averages are no comfort.
What a family. I think I would be unable to barely hold it together if
this was my lot in life--let alone look outward and invite others into my pain
as you have. What a wonderful Dad and Mom you must be. And how eloquent and touching and an inspiration you have been to share your
sweet Mitchell and your lives and your pain and your hope with the world. Mitchell has given his very life in bringing others closer to God and to
the meaning of true faith, love, and humanity. May you as his Mom
and Dad and siblings and family take comfort in the gift that sharing your
Mitchell and your journey has become.

To: One Old Man...my eyes too were filled with tears of sadness that this young
man didn't live a long time and tears of joy because of the words of love
and support that have been expressed. He is in such a more peaceful and loving
place now and what better place to be - than in the presence of your Heavenly
I've been following this F/B post for a while and watched sadly as that
little guy was digressing. He was so brave, buoyed up by the love of his
family. He was blessed to be placed into an earthly home with so much caring,
love and bravery. I am so thankful to the parents for sharing the life of their
little boy. Their courage gives us a glimpse of the bravery, the love, the
compassion of which a human soul is capable. Thank you for sharing the love of
a good family in what could be the worst experience a family could ever suffer.
God bless you and offer you the comfort only He can give.
"Where there is great love there are always miracles."Sometimes
the miracles come in the way lives and hearts are changed and strengthened
through our trials, and through the love and support we receive from others.God bless this family always for their example of courage and great love and
faith!(Thank you, Deseret News, for sharing these stories that inspire and
bring hope and gratitude to our hearts.)
Condolences and Best Wishes to this young man's family in capturing the
