How about a plan that won't cost the taxpayer $10 to implement and send
this high tech part to other counties like Tooloe or Santaquin whose economies
have gone down. There are thousand of acres of land in those regions
they can put a tech park where future expansion is unlimited and low cost to
develop. We have to spread the wealth to other counties that will help more than
just Utah and SL counties and increasing pollution and traffic congestion and
still help the state economic growth. Why tear down the prison to
rebuild new business on marginal land not safe for development by the USGS
zoning laws. There is a major plus to this idea as well, keep the rising
pollution levels during inversions from mandating closure of business. The last thing our legislators should be planning or considering costs that
are not sustainable or doable by a new $100 billion dollar prison relocation in
a recession about to go sour in federal state aid cuts and massive job losses.
There is no urgency to move the prison and greed has run its course too long and
is too expensive for the taxpayers.
