Yeah too bad they already lost to their new one (Colorado)
"It’s a group that lost two of its best performers, but returns some
promising young talent while adding a lot of new names through the recruiting
process."That says it all right there. Our O-line was horrible
this past season and we lost the two best players on the line. This year the
best we could do is scrouge up some "promising young talent" which is
code for "the O-line is going to be really bad." Thank goodness we have
a mobile quarterback and some really talented RBs and receivers, Tayson will
have to get them the ball quickly or he's in trouble. I hope Kearsley
matches the hype and we get a few breaks/surprises in the overall talent on the
line... the transfers will at least bring some experience. We need all the help
we can get. Go Cougs!
This line is going to be one of the best. Lots of NFL talent here.
We have the recruits to have a very good offensive line. If they jell, we
should be looking at a top 10 season.
Brandon, you ommitted Brad Wilcox in your list of players vying to replace
Braden Brown at RT. He's a tall, long athlete (6-6) with great feet. His
footwork was good enough that coaches gave him the option of playing TE. He got
back from his mission in great shape. Hardly any fat and weighs about 280.Go BYU.
@ Ernest T Bass and Mildred: Come on peeps. Get realistic. I'm assuming
you have seen the schedule. Lets just hope for an average line, a top 25 finish
and beating Utah.
Sick of the total lack of Utah football coverage. We get a 6 part series on byu
football spring camp, and a 2 or 3 part coverage on their color switch, as well
as a big series on conference expansion, but not a word on the Utes. Stupid.
Unbiased, they got you! Both Mildred and Ernest typically make corn-pone
over-enthusiastic comments designed to sound like naive choir-boy fans.Although in this instance, I think Mildred spoke some truth in humor. IF this
line comes together, and with the schedule they are facing, success could indeed
produce top ten results.Wait and see, wait and see...
Unbiased:Ernest and Mildred are both Ute trolls posing as BYU fans
who make outrageous comments so other Ute trolls can criticize BYU fans. Just a
classic "straw man" set-up.Nelson's weak arm
wasn't the only reason BYU was unable to throw the ball deep this last
season. Not having time to throw was also a significant factor. Unless the
O-line is markedly improved from last fall, we will still have the same problem
despite a stronger and more mobile QB.
No way I'm always seriously
@bshampooNot very many people care about utah, mostly it is just BYU
fans that like to mock utah and its "fans". If more people actually
cared there would be more articles.
@bshampooI agree with duckhunter, when there is something worth
reporting about the Utes is when we will see a story.
Was it:* lack of talent* coaching* injuries* depth
@ ETB and Mildred in Fillmore,If only you are capable of being
honest for a change! It seems you two are void of any sense of sincerity and
integrity towards anything BYU. It's really sad because it doesn't
have to be this way. The same goes for those Cougar fans who constantly
belittle and demean others who are not BYU fans. They are just as despicable.
There is no need for this insanity to continue, especially among fans who are
members of the LDS faith who should know better. Go Cougars! and
good luck to the Utes too!
shamo - media prints and publishes what people read. If there are no readers,
it's not news. The O Line is the biggest obstacle / key to
success in 2013. I think the O Line play is even more important that QB play,
because it impacts QB play. If the O Line comes together, the Cougs could have
a 9-3 or even 10-2 season. If the O Line plays like they did last year, 6-6 or
7-5 could be the outcome. I'm hoping some of the young talent
lke Mathews, Kearsley, Yeck and Alletto reach their potential quickly. And
hopefully some to the returners and JUCO transfers turn into impact players. With Anae and Tujague, there is hope for improvement.
BYU's O line will have to be good. Utah had the top front 7 in the country
last year and it looks to be the same this year.
