This sentence seems way too light. She smashed up police cars, endangered lives
for miles and was DUI...and she gets time served and a few hundred bucks.Something is wrong with this picture.
Sounds like she was lucky to just lose an eye. This could have been worse if the
bullet was just a few inches to the right. Don't drink and drive.
Bad decision. She should be in jail. I'm still trying to figure out why the
officer was at fault. He put his life at risk, ordered the woman out of her car
and she continued to ram his vehicles with no regard to his safety or life.
I'm betting to a jury wouldn't find him guilty for using his weapon
What concerns me the most with this, is the action of Davis County Attorney Troy
Rawlings, in not fulling backing the sheriff deputy in his actions with this.
Too bad he was not out there on the front line, rather than sitting at his desk.
Weird, because in other cases very similar to this, others have been brought up
on attempted murder charges by using their vehicle to try and ram cops.
There must have been some strong vibes that she way going to counter-sue the
police. And a jury would have the sympathy vote.Goldies Pa is right that
if the system won't back the badge it opens a door for the perp to sue.The sentence makes no sense otherwise.
A different standard for female perps?
