I certainly hope this bill passes. There's no need to expose those with
concealed carry permits, they're not the problem. Lets keep the concealed
permit holder's information concealed.
I hope this resolve is with merit and conviction of belief in civil rights to
defend this right with their lives and convictions. It time to put the pressure
on public officials to stand by their nation and duty to country and freedoms as
representation with honest merit. Just as soldiers defend this country from
invasion abroad, it is up to the militia and civilians to defend this country at
home from everything else. There is only one recourse to avoid this
and that is make concealed carry permits not required in Utah and burn the
current list and records under the supervision of oversight watchdogs.Unless you are public servants as police, military, or federal employees or
spy agency affiliated, register public workers and weapons, not the free
citizens. Citizens were emancipated in 1865 by president Lincoln and
Constitutional amendment and registering people by race or affiliation became
illegal. The Constitution allows the registration of public employees
armed or not by contract required as public information and duty of service.
Before voting on things like this perhaps the Utah Legislature should first give
Notice to the Federal Government that the State will no longer accept Federal
Money for any reason? Be consistent, boys.
Pass the bill now. It's the right thing to do and any thing that sticks a
finger in Obama's and his bunch eye works for me. I love my
Country Its the Government that scares me.
Can the incredible STUPIDITY of our legislators become any more stupid?I'm afraid the answer is probably YES.Some of them are at
least as insane as Wayne LaPierre.
Sorry Jacob but if it looks like and smells like a conspiracy theory it
propagate is, but lets go ahead and waist the people's time and money on
another unenforceable law.
Probably, sorry did not catch the auto correct.
Once again, paranoia dictates the Utah Legislature's priorities.
Federal law trumps state law, period! Doesn't matter what you pass!
This is a good bill and I hope it becomes law. Given that the federal
government is trying to deny us our 2nd Ammendment rights, its reasonable that
our state government try to protect us.I also want to add that there
is a movement we give up the electoral college and elect presidents by popular
vote. Small states are more likely to elect people who will support the Second
Ammendment. Given this, we ought to oppose getting rid of the electoral college.
The person in the picture is untrained in safe pistol handling. His finger is
already on the trigger and that is dangerous gun handling in the case of any
kind of weopen. He was not likely trained by an NRA certified insturctor.Yes, pass the law. Require the state to abide and prevent the anti
second amendment people from further "infringing" on the right of law
abiding citizens the keep and bear arms. It has always been othe mission of the
NRA and Mr. La Pierre to defend this right and teach all citizens how to enjoy
the safe use of firearms. It is the NRA who stands between careless and criminal
use of firearms and the citizens of this country. That is their job and the
reason the organization exists. Be thankful they have that mission to perform,
even you anti gun people.
Oh my word can we get these zealots out of office. They are wasting tax payer
dollars. Let's focus on what is really important. The gun issue is a non
issue. STOP IT!
Elcapitan -- if he was trained in Utah, he probably never had any instruction in
safe handling. To obtain a CCP in Utah, one need not ever even touch a gun in
class. And your comment about the NRA is complete and utter nonsense.
To the gentleman that stated federal law trumps state law. This is patently
false. Have you perhaps read the Constitution? The federal government only has
a set of laws it can enforce, you see the 10th amendment protects the states
from Feds overreaching. Please pick up a Constitution near you and actually
It's pretty simple, if Utah issues CCP across state lines (and it does)
doesn't that make it the Feds business?
Unfortunately its come to this. It would be idealif states and the federal
government couldcooperate. But with the federal governmentwanting to
confiscate guns from law abidingcitizens against their own constitution,
sharinggun data isn't an option.I hope this bill passes
and our governor doesn'tveto it.
HB317, sponsored by Rep. Jacob Anderegg is a Awesome piece of Legislation. This
is a rare politician that understands what's really going on in this
countryDue to the media and our agenda-fied Politicians the sheep
believe that Gun control is needed to save us. When in fact the total opposite
approach is needed. More Guns in the hands of well trained citizens. Bring back
Gun Safety Classes to our schools, starting in kindergarden thru High School,
like Switzerland doesEnd the ineffective Gun Safety Zones - do these
left legislators really believe that an out of control crazed individual is
going to see a Gun Safe Zone sign and say OOPs I can't go in here and shoot
up the place. Unfortunately this has been proven to have cost many lives,
because a well trained individual had to leave their gun locked in the trunk of
their car.Chicago got rid of all the guns - Murder rate sky rocketed
- Violet Crime Sky rocketedGuns can & do save lives and if
States started to offer wide spread gun education with graduation into conceal
carry - watch crime go way way down
Or they could use the information to fight crime and bring felons to justice.
Re the suggestion to do away with the Electoral College: It may be archaic, but
it protects the small states, like Utah. If popular vote only, then elections
will be decided only by large population states, such as California, New York,
Ohio. The rest of us won't have a vote worth mentioning. As for
this LaPierre gun law, a bunch of nonsense. Kind of like a chicken trying to
strut how important he thinks he is, but no one else cares.
Correction: My comment was directed at HB 317.
Re: Adamgale,Read Article IV. It's called the supremacy
clause. Perhaps before admonishing others to read something, you should do it
yourself. It would have helped prevent the good folk in La Verkin from the
paranoia that called them to pass a meaningless resolution that withdrew them
from the UN. (Hint: the city can't withdraw from something they never
Practically every day we hear about a shooting whether an accident, suicide,
murder, murder/suicide, road rage, a gun used in a crime, or the tragedy when a
child gets a hold of a supposedly responsible gun owner’s gun. More guns
in our communities means more people will die from a gun shot.
This should be considered public information, just like marriage, divorce, and
criminal record information.
