PLEASE tell me that this boy will not have to live with her again or see her
again. She may be so full of anger at him for testifying against her. Will he
be safe? I hope so.
Tragic, my prayers to the nine year old and siblings. Truly a lifetime memory
that will live with these children. Four months doesn't begin to
There are some people who do not deserve to be reunited with their children.
Really, let's look at what's best for the kids, and it isn't
always being with a parent...particularly a looney crazed individual who
threatens her children with weapons. This is disgusting!
Wow! Her booking photo..........HUBBA-HUBBA! orThis is the face of Utah family values..........
I find it hard to imagine that when parents choose to name a child
"Bambi" that much good will follow. Is it just me?
From the article: Richins, 35, told the children "if they said anything,
they would be placed in foster care and never see her again."And
the downside of that would be...?
guns are fine as long as she does not point a violent video game at him because
its games not guns that kill right?
I'm amazed at what the DN screeners approve and reject. Some of the
comments here are a lot worse than my rejected posts. Come on people it's
about the kid and our lame court systems not the woman's name or her mug
As a parent, but without a substance abuse problem, I can appreciate the
frustration being a parent and trying to raise a recalcitrant child. How many
times have we all wanted to say to the unruly child "I'm going to rip
you arms off and beat you bloody !" and then have your kid(s) laugh at you?
Or how about "we're going to sell you the the Gypsies, Oh wait,
we'll have to pay them to take you"? Our hip kids got the message and
they still laugh about it. Prehaps Ms. Bambi, who looks intelligent, should
better develop her verbal skills to better raise her moppet.
Once again we see the real common denominator behind incidents like this and
even worse the recent school shootings-a person(s) who either abuse substances,
has severe mental health problems and/or has little regard for human life and
the rule of law. However, the feel good politics politicians, those
who exploit fear and crisis to force their agendas, those who look upon the
second amendment with condescending contempt and those who see confiscating
anything they can construe as an "assault rifle" as the magic bullet to
solve society's ills and to preserve lives refuse to dig deeper and to cure
the disease Instead they prefer to treat symptoms, infringe upon the rights of
law abiding citizens, find a scape goat, have desires and designs to overstep
their constitutionally granted powers and to ignore the bigger picture of
societal ills and the abysmal failure of the mental health system in the US. "You never want a serious crisis to go to waste. And what I mean by
that is an opportunity to do things you think you could not do before" Rahm
22ozn440ozglassI willingly acknowledge that to curb violence we need to
address substance abuse and mental health issues, even violence in the media are
you willing to stop scapegoating others and consider that maybe it is time to
have a reasonable discussion about addressing the role guns play in our society?
@ 22oz...: Without background checks, how do you know who the law abiding
citizens are? Should this woman ever again be allowed to own a gun? If Utah
does not shareher records with other states, what is to prohibit her from
getting a gun in another state and bringing it back to Utah?
Why are parents driven to such extremes? No it's not right to put a gun to
any's head, especially a childs. My question is why do we have to be treated
so poorly by our children? How are we to raise kids that have the same respect
for authority that somehow our parents taught us? What exactly is "proper
actions for punishing children these days?". How do we deal with children
who don't listen, respect, or follow rules and laws? Not blaming the 9 year
old, but our society that who turns a blind eye to ciechildren that never
learn to follow instructions, rules and laws?
My heart goes out to the children of physical abuse, I don't think any
person could ever understand the damage done when someone points a loaded gun at
you. But what is worrisome is that it seems to be
