I hope we start Austin at center and move Davies down to the four. I just see
Brandon getting in early foul trouble having to guard a big man like theirs.
"Guard Tyler Haws said it's important for his team to be "playing
at our pace and staying on attack for 40 minutes."Yep!
That's the problem. What a win this would be.
I'm looking forward to this game. BYU is playing good ball. Gonzaga is oh
so tough at home. The Zags biggest test will be in Provo and @ St.
Spokane Ute,I agree, BYU is playing good ball but the Zags will be too
tough for the Cougars in Spokane. Should be a good game.
Looks like this will be a good game and I'll be tuning in after the Utah
Cal. This is a game that I think BYU needs and absolutely can win... I'm
hoping they get the win! Good luck tonight Cougars.
If they do win, that will be one more marquee win than the football team has had
for the last 10 years or so.
54-IQBYU beating then #3 Oklahoma 14-13 was by far a bigger marquee
win for BYU than any Utah win in the last decade except for Utah's Sugar
Bowl win against Alabama. The game was a made-for-TV, nationally
televised event, the first college game played in the brand new Dallas Cowboys
Stadium against one of the truly elite teams of college football.Three of the first four players selected in the NFL draft the following spring
played for Oklahoma, including the returning Heisman Trophy winner, Sam
I will be cheering for the Cougs as loud as anyone. But the only chance they
have of winning this game is if Davies and Haws can have good games. Davies has
not done well against tough teams, being in constant foul trouble. No rebounds
against St. Mary's really hurt as well. Without both of them having big
games tonight, the Zags will beat BYU. Would certainly help if one or two other
players would step up as well...maybe Carlino? Here's hoping!
I honestly don't see this game being close. Gonzaga has been in tight
contests with good teams this season. BYU has lost badly to each of the four
good teams they've played. Gonzaga by 17
As far as I'm concerned, tonight we are all Cougar fans.Go
I believe Carlino is the key to the game. If he plays as a pass-first poing
guard and gets the ball to Davies and Haws, we have a chance. But the Zags are
way tough at home. Go Cougs!
@oldcougar - I agree with your assessment about Carlino. But I would say
that's the key to the offense. Equally as important in this
game is the defense. Davies needs to stay out of foul trouble and play solid D,
but maybe even more important is slowing down Pangos. Unless Zylstra is
lighting it up from outside the arc, I'd be playing Winder. I think
he's a much better on ball defender against Pangos.
Zags by 15 to 20!!
I would love to see the Cougars pull this one off, but I just don't think
it will happen. Unless they have greatly improved since Baylor and Iowa State,
look for this game to be a blowout loss.
Gameplan: Have Winder guard Pangos the whole length of the floor and have get
one of the other Bulldogs to get them into their offense.BYU's defense will
then be able to win the game.
will be blown out tonight. not Gonzaga/
