Again --- When a police officer is involved in an incident, he or she is
immediately placed on administrative leave until an investigation has been
completed and the officer has been cleared of any wrongdoing.Should
anything less happen when the chief law officer of the state is under clouds. He should step aside -- on leave -- until a thorough, totally
independent and non-partisan investigation has been completed. Then,
and only then, should he return to his duties IF it is appropriate. There has long been a dark cloud -- indeed many dark clouds -- hovering around
Mr. Swallow. That this has happened was not even a surprise for some of his
fellow Republicans. Let's get to the bottom of it and handle
Mr. Swallow as would be the case with any other law officer.
Johnson really has everyone hoodwinked! On a day that his entire family gets
indicted he's got the papers running headlines about Swallow, this a
classic case of hide the ball. Johnson is the criminal, and swallow is his
patsy, just because the Salt Lake Tribune has seemingly judged Swallow guilty
doesn't mean he is. What if, play along with me here, Johnson had an email
he knew wasn't criminal but decided that in order to get a lesser sentence
he would make up claims that the email was part of a bigger conspiracy? Seems
like that would get you a lesser sentence, any chance that could be
Johnson's end game?
You mean someone in the GOP has actually used the word Ethics?Wow.But he's right. It is long, long past time to get
serious with ethics.
GOP really did their homework on Swallow, didn't they!
I've read Swallow's email to Johnson. It lays out the whole plan.Republicans asking now for ethics laws, to keep Swallow ethical?Aren't they the same people saying we don't need gun laws, because
criminals will ignore them?
I volunteered on the campaign of Swallow's opponent in the primary for
three weeks and walked several neighborhoods in Salt Lake County. I
couldn't believe the number of people who were opposed to Swallow and
called him a "Scumbag". I was shocked when I heard the election
results. This tells me that a lot of voters have their head in the
Why isn't the Republican party chastising Jeremy Johnson as a crook?
Swallow hasn't done anything illegal and the newspapers continue to run
baseless allegations but the Republican party with their tail between their
knees is running scared.
The first thing that needs to be done is to stop all bills being passed into law
behind closed doors in this state. It would seem that those behind closed doors
bills are just adding steam to an already corrupt state. Let the chips fall
where they may but don't stop with Swallow.
Yes it is all about Truth and Justice ,not about Party Politics .These men
are supposed to see that Truth and Justice is carried out within the Law.
Something is amiss .
Swallow didn't have everyone on board within the AG's office when he
was the Senior Deputy as evidenced by those who supported other candidates,
Republican and Democrat. He should have been above board and if there were
problems, he should have discussed them with Attorney General Shurtleff so the
agency wouldn't be caught unaware of at least one wrong, to know a person
that wasn't who he thought he was. This will keep Swallow from
being the most effective Attorney General we have had. He should have told the
Utah GOP about this relationship prior to the GOP convention last spring. He
kept on using his Senior Deputy position and Shurtleff's endorsement of him
as a primary goal. He should have been honest that he didn't have this
type of relationship. Now he has to have the impact on his career, whether
guilty or not. Johnson has a history of events that don't reflect good on
him or his family. He certainly twisted the knife with his claim about Swallow.
Mistakes based on lots of money for purported influence is a large problem.
Voting is a lot like driving.Don't do either, blind.
I have been watching and waiting for Swallow to choke. He has a big piece of
Johnson in his craw.
