I couldn't dream of doing something like this. His partner accepted an
invitation to participate in doing this with just a phone call while he was at
work the same day they did it. There are people among us, who look like us who
are apparently 'inches' away from choosing to do something like this.
I have to imagine they are born with different wiring or different programming
in the brain. These kinds of people have so little regard for others.
In this case the legal system was also the justice system.
The son and his wife were apparently tied up by Bond and Rettig, and it was
reported that on Jan. 16, the son's wife then testifies in court that:"Before the men left, she said they told her and her husband to tell
police that three black men had been inside the home. They said they had her
husband's identification and their address and threatened to come to their
home if they told police anything else."If the son and his wife
actually told the police the false story about three black inside the home, then
as far as I am concerned, that son and wife got just what they deserved by
subsequently being charged with murder. And, the time they spent in jail was
justly deserved also.
I feel such sorrow for all the Mortensens have been through; not just the
horrific murder, but the wrongful imprisonment of two innocent family members.
And to think that the murderer, Bond, is the son of a good friend of the victim!
Both families must be in much pain. Kay Mortensen owned many firearms and no
doubt possessed the skill to use them. But when you invite a friend’s
child into your home, you have no reason to suspect he’ll take your life.
I am blown away by this case and the ignorance, viciousness and evilness of
Martin Bond and Ben Rettig.
