Christ said, "Render unto Ceasar that which is Ceasars." I interpret
that to mean obey the law. I'd deport this guy in a heartbeat because he
is not only breaking the law, he's flaunting his breaking of the law. If
he takes steps to make himself legal, then fine.If he's getting
any government assistance for anything, he should be in jail.
Whenever people are aware of their rights, this helps to keep law enforcement
and others on the right side of the line. Cudos to the young man who made this
app.Law breakers forfeit the majority of their rights? Who among us
hasn'tt broken some law? We're that really the case, the majority of
the rights of ALL of us would already be forfeited.
cjb: You are absolutely right (except it's "kudos"). The problem
is the venomous self-righteousness of modern Pharisees. Jesus said, "Love
one another as I have loved you." From time to time the DN dares to publish
a story that attempts to show undocumented immigrants as real people, and there
are always voices of rancor in response. I believe we will someday answer, not
only for our treatment of the poor, the widows, and the fatherless, but also
those who came here to escape a life of hopelessness and work harder than most
of us ever will just to feed and clothe their children. Our laws need reforming
so that those who would do harm are kept out and those who add character to our
national fabric are allowed to remain.
so I have just as much right to someone elses' property as they do? All
because I am human. I wish that would hold up in court. What I would like to
know is how this kid is making money? If he is illegal and is earning money in
the US he is violated yet another law. It is interesting how he is crying for
protection under our law, but spits in the face of those same laws. It may not
be illegal for someone to advise someone else of their rights, but he is walking
a fine line of breaking even more federal laws. Will he get a pass on those as
well? US Code Section 1325 part d: Immigration-related
entrepreneurship fraudAny individual who knowingly establishes a
commercial enterprisefor the purpose of evading any provision of the
immigration lawsshall be imprisoned for not more than 5 years, fined in
accordancewith title 18, or both.
I don't remember God or Jesus saying we should not enforce laws in the
Bible. On the contrary. they are very much for the letter of the law. I doubt they like being used to justify criminal activity.
He should be thankful for the schooling American taxpayers bought him. This is
why immigration reform never works. To many are trying to circumvent our laws so
others will break them. College age kids have a waiver, so do
immediate family members. It's time to deport the rest, then change our
laws if they are needed. Seven amnesties have not worked, they won't work
this time. This invasion is going to hurt us for many years unless
it's stopped now. We have England and Ireland, Israel and Palestine,
Montenegro and Bosnia etc. that show us that we are headed for trouble.
