No reason for John Swallow to be on no-indictment list, spokesman says
This guy is out of his mind! He needs to enter an insanity plea.
First off, I know nothing for certain about Swallow. I don't personally
know the man, nor have I ever seen him accepting a brown paper bag full of
money. That said, this is just one of perhaps a dozen columns of
smoke I've heard of suggesting that Swallow is not on the level. For these
reasons I did not vote for him either in the primary or the general election. It
could all be an illusion, but it is hard for me to imagine that there's no
fire when I see that much smoke.
John Swallow is political and professional toast. Even if he did nothing illegal
he obviously is involved. This whole thing will be a media feeding frenzy and
will haunt Swallow every day of his life unless/until he resigns...and maybe
If Johnson's wife, parents, friends, business associates have nothing to
hide...why should they or he fear their prosecution by the AG? It seems to be an
unusual request by Johnson that should not merit consideration by our justice
We will rue the day John Swallow was made the AG. How long has he been in? A
I m LDS 2; You do not know Jeremy at all and you judge him like that. Wow!! I
know him and his family and he is not what you think. I do not know if he is
guilty or not, but what I do know is when the Federal Government goes after your
done. They seize all you have, slander you in public and make it impossible to
defend yourself financially or in the media. There is a reason they have such a
high conviction rate, they are ruthless in their dealings. You better pray they
never decide to come after you. I know you think there is no reason they would
but Jeremy didn't think so either at one point in his life. I think there
is a lot more to this story and like it or not there are Utah government
officials intertwined in it whether it be for good or bad.
Although we must grant that there is not enough evidence to make a good call,
this is far from the first time that Swallow's name has come up in some
very questionable circumstances. This should become the subject of a
very thorough investigation by someone not at all associated with the Utah
AG's office -- or the Republican Party.
"Johnson decides he should try to get Swallow to drop out of the A.G.
race."It appears that Mr. Johnson may have violated state law by
doing what he claims he did after that decision.According to the
article, I don't see Johnson paying Swallow for the deal. It appears that
money goes to RMR.I Works Inc directly donated campaign money in
2008, and 2009, but didn't in 2010, 2011, and 2012 according to the LT Gov
site. None of the money went directly to Swallow that I noticed.Mark
Shurtleff's Utah's Prosperity Foundation donated money to John
Swallow. I haven't found any money coming from Johnson to Swallow directly
or though Utah's Prosperity Foundation.I don't see
anything in either the email or anything else to counteract what Swallow says he
did, only by Johnson who claims he (Johnson) violated all sorts of ethics
laws.It appears Swallow recommended Johnson hire a lobbyist to help
him. It appears Johnson used all the tricks, potentially illegal, to try to get
Swallow to get his money back, even though Swallow wasn't paid.
Sounds like he has cleverly fashioned a method to take others down with him. Hopefully, he will not get off with an insanity plea.
It's pretty obvious that mr swallow has his hands very dirty in all of
this. As Americans we need to take our country back from great rich, corrupt,
and arrogant. Those who feel like the rules don't apply to them. Time to
Resign. Bye bye swallow!!!
It sounds as if some Utahns want to give Swallow a fair trial before tarring and
I am not surprised at all to hear John Swallow took money from Johnson. There
is a reason his name is on the list, he wants protection from whatever it is he
did wrong.I really hope the truth comes out on Swallow, although as the
new AG he won't be punished, he'll just sweep it under the rug.
WAIT!!! The FTC can charge you with one count of mail fraud for sending a $3 CD,
and without a trial, they can throw you jail, ruin your reputation, steal your
money, sell off your assets and threaten to do the same to your friends and
family in order to get you to sign a confession? Did you know this was allowed
under the constitution? We all walk around saying things like, "presumed
innocent until proven guilty" but this is happening to one of us and we
don't seem to mind? When did the law change to allow this? What if
he's finally allowed a trial and he wins???? His money and property are
gone!! His life ruined. So we just tell him, "sorry, our bad." And
don't say its ok because he's rich and in a filthy business.
That's a cop out. The fact is, if they can do it to him, they can do it to
all of us and it really bothers me that no one cares.
I know Jeremy and his family. I've been following this case the FTC makes
against him for the last two years now. They have absolutely no evidence. None
at all. Where are these alleged consumers who have been cheated out of millions
of dollars? Which law has he broken? They have made indictment after indictment
and produced enough false evidence to lock him up. In the meantime they auction
off his assets to buy some time to find real "dirt" that he surely must
have. After all, every business must have broken the law at some point right?
The fact is that Jeremy has been in strict compliance with the FTC
regulations and was very cooperative with all their requests before they threw
him in prison. THEY have the power of the press. THEY have the unlimited
resources to keep this case from going to trial. THEY have the track record of
outspending their victims until they give up. And most of all THEY cannot lose
this case because THEY cannot afford to expose themselves as the criminals that
they really are.
John Swallow just put out his side of the story. You might want to read it
before deciding to send him off to jail.
"Where are these alleged consumers who have been cheated out of millions of
dollars?"Ummmm - there were more than 500,000 complaints to the BBB
right ????? - what am I missing....Isn't 500,000 unhappy customers a
sign of something????
Don't bother the Jeremy Johnson apologists with facts. I've spoken to
several and they continue to believe that this is just a vast government
conspiracy against their hero. They "don't read the papers or listen
to the news about him." Seriously. He deserves his day in court
but the public record about his business practices including the online gambling
credit processing is extensive. For someone to claim that the federal agencies
involved in the case have no evidence is ludicrous.
We do ourselves harmful disservice to pass judgment with nothing more than press
clippings. We expose our sanctimonious ignorance and indignation. Shame on those
of you for such arrogance and piety. Beware the finger you point at others with
such brazen hubris. I have no clue if this man is guilty, and would certainly
never malign another because of association. I sat on a jury where we acquitted
an innocent man. It was a case driven by deep pockets pressing our legal system
and tax dollars into an overpaid collection service, yielding no reward for
their misguided efforts. I was aghast and enraged at the presumption of guilt,
and spent five hours during a seven hour deliberation discussing principles of
jurisprudence, and our Constitution' s Fifth and Sixth Amendments. It all
started with one juror's exclamation, "well he must be guilty of
something or he wouldn't be here in the first place." It is not for us
to decide this man's guilt in this forum, and only skews the efforts of
truth and justice to succeed. The right to express your opinion is without
question and unfettered, but doesn't make it moral or righteous.
To those who know, or think they know the truth, you should save your comments
for more esoteric gatherings. More disturbing than any alleged wrong
doing on the part of Mr. Johnson are the allegations made against Brent Ward.
This could be serious and needs to be vetted out with all vigor. Our legal
system is not to be made up of power mongers and thugs, and this is not Nazi
Germany. We can’t tolerate our prosecutors of justice to violate the
authority with which we entrust them. They must be held to the highest
standards. If a case can’t be established through honorable means to
discover truth, then there probably is no case. If Mr. Ward has subjected
himself to extortion, then he should be held in the highest contempt and
immediately dismissed. Our legal system and its officers wield enormous power to
destroy people’s lives, completely. It isn’t a power to be
brandished lightly. The premier purpose of this publication is to be a beacon of
warning when the public trust is violated. It’s up to us to demand that
such violation is squashed with zealous haste.
@ManInTheMiddleYou're missing the fact that The BBB is not where
complaints are filed if someone is violated by the fraudulant acts of another.
Nor is it a repository of evidence for a prosecutor of justice. If you
understood the lack of credibility that surrounds the BBB (a private enterprise)
you would understand the foolishness of your statement.
I know what he did. What he did was illegal. He is guilty once he plans to
commit the crime. The courts allow him the right of "innocent until proven
guilty." I am not a court. I don't have the same restrictions as the
court. I need not give him the benefit of saying he is innocent until he's
proven guilty in a court of law. He is guilty once he planned the crime. (for
those unaware, planning a crime is illegal - thus he was guilty at the planning
stage)Further - I understand the BBB - nothing in my posts proves
otherwise. And for you to pass such judgments on me without knowing
anything about me is the height of hypocrisy. Re-read your statements knowing
you've wrongly accused me. Paraphrasing you - you do yourself "harmful
disservice to pass judgment with nothing more than" reading a couple of my
posts on this informal comment string -
@ManInTheMiddleWell, I stand corrected. Your “knowledge” is
not what I anticipated and you have the inside scoop. I believe I did say that
the “right to express your opinion is without question and
unfettered.” That means you can say what you want. It certainly is your
right. But then, I was only addressing those posts without the benefit of such
“knowledge” and “truth” and I simply question the
morality of such judgment.Regarding my comments on your BBB
statement, I do not require knowledge of anything about you, nor do I attack you
in any way. You asked “what am I missing?” I simply point out your
error in referring to the BBB as a source of credible accusation. One person may
post multiple complaints, and many A+ ratings are maintained with promotional
funds paid to the BBB. They are not reliable. And although that does not
reflect on you directly, it is your reference.
What ever happened to our day in court, does it not apply to Republicans? How about being able to face your accusers?Johnson obviously wants an
out for what he did, and will throw everyone in who touched this deal.Big
question, how is it no Federal authority has stepped forward to cite
Swallow?....Just sayingOf course the Democrats much like the sharks smell
blood, so everything in their eyes is the truth, even if it isn't.
