Looks like the Fed's led the GOP to where they should have been all along.
Affordable health care for all, not just the privalged.
I have a confidence that Utah can do a better job on its own. Thank goodness the
federal government gave the mandate that all people be covered with health
insurance. But Utah government officials are quite competent at managing state
government and I'm quite sure Utah can do a very good job here.We have the best of both worlds. Democratic Heart and Utah Republican
Competence and Intellect.
How are they going to pay for it? OH that's right raise taxes. Isn't
that what the Feds would be doing to help pay for it.
The Governor caved. He is a RINO.
We cannot afford Obamacare.
Straitpath,if I understand correctly, this is the plan the state had in
place BEFORE Obamacare. If so, Sebelius, not Herbert, caved.
Read the fine print. The feds only partially approved the Utah plan, but added
a requirement that they extend it to individuals, not just businesses. That is
quite a bit different, and they will want the Utah plan to "comply" with
all sorts of as yet unwritten federal mandates as well.SO far, this
is a good start, but if the federal mandates make the plan unworkable or
unaffordable, then I hope that Governor Herbert and the Legislature will simply
repeal the Utah plan, as good as it would have been, and tell the feds we will
not bend to their diktat, and they can set up an exchange for Utah their way
without our accepting blame for its many failings.Obamacare is an
unaffordable and unworkable mess, and should be repealed, every last word of it.
Get the government out of the healthcare system entirely and that alone will
increase availability and reduce costs.Gov Herbert is a good man and
will do what is best for Utah, even if it make Obama unhappy.Never
give up our sovereignty!
As I understand it, the Feds added seventy two pages of requirements to the
Utah plan. They did not accept it outright. The Governor caved.
straitpath,thanks for the clirification
Straitpath: The Governor did not "cave" - no changes have been made to
the Utah plan to meet the federal requirements - yet. The legislature and the
Governor will have to decide if it is in our best interest to change our plan as
needed or let the Feds do it their way. The Governor does not have the power to
To "FT" how does making health insurance more expensive help make it
more affordable?Do the uninsured now make more money to pay for the
additional mandates and taxes involved with Obamacare?
