the Jazz, "consistantly inconsistant". Kind of like NBA referees as Hot
Rod used to say.
When I glanced at the game the Jazz were down by four, late in the 4th quarter
with less than 5 minutes to play, and soon it was 12. They eventually lost by
11.Defense is a concept in basketball, my friends, that not every
franchise understands or supports. Those who do usually win and those who
don't usually lose. (Yawn...)
Actually the jazz are very consistant. They consistantly don't play
defense. They consistantly play from behind. They consistantly give away the few
games that they are leading. Millsap is getting consistantly worse. They have a
consistantly bad point guard crew, even with Mo Williams. They are pretty
Are we to expect the Jazz to be just an average team at best? Is ownership,
management, and coaches happy to just stay in the middle of the pack? We
certainly do much better than that. How about making some changes starting with
some trades? How about evaluating the organization and see if we really have
the right coach? How about giving our new guys some more playing time? If so,
we just might see some improvement. Come on guys! How about doing something to
improve our team? Now! Don't wait any longer.
Millsap is slipping, Why? Give him more time.....more time to sharpen up his
skills. he is not playing as a starter. The Jazz orgaizaation including the
coaches have not decided how to organize and play our talent. We need some help
from outside our organization to hekp us make some decisions.Otherwise,
mediocrity will prevail. Personally I think it is a coaching problem.
Millsap slipping? If you run ninety percent of your offense through Jefferson,
and he is in the post, it forces Millsap into a player to set screens. When
Jefferson is out the Jazz win by thirty because everyone knows they might get
the ball back. Jefferson is talented, but he cost the Jazz dearly on defense as
well as his inability to pass the ball. He holds the ball for ten seconds every
time he touches it. He is teaching Kanter the same slow delivery.Watch every
player on the team stop moving when he gets into the post. He killed Boston, and
then he killed everyone in Minnesota, that is why we have him! AK was an all
star, and then we moved him from the four to the three to make room for
Bloooozer. And it destroyed him. This team needs a point guard, and a new
coaching philosophy. If they don't trade Jefferson, it doesn't matter
who plays with him, they will suffer.
We are spoiled as Jazz fans. We are used to having a team that makes the
playoffs almost every year, and we act like it is the end of the world when they
struggle. I am not opposed to seeing some changes, but I also would like to see
them have some time to jell. Foye, Williams, and Williams are new to the team.
Corbin has been coaching for less than 2 seasons. Jefferson and Millsap are on
the trade block (notice how our team's energy declined as soon as that went
public), and most of our players are really young. I agree that we need a
defensive presence involved, sort of a Kendrick Perkins type player, but we will
need to sacrifice something for it. As for playing our young guys, I have
watched Corbin give them most of the second half several times this month, and
they aren't doing much better. One of the biggest problems we have is that
our bench, and starters are very equal, so it is hard to know who to play on any
