If the purpose of providing free weapons classes for teachers is to protect students in the face of a dangerous weapon-wielding person on school grounds, then such public employees should meet a minimum police accredited course that focuses specifically on responding to such an invading circumstance which may also include when not to use their weapons. I hope the proposed course isn't just the typical weapons training for recreational use, if so this would put the educator and our children in more danger not less. Such educators should have at least an advanced martial arts belt-equivalency to be able to handle their weapons in such circumstances instead of ending up shooting innocent people or students in a crisis. The public should demand no less for our children.

And what when a teacher goes nuts? When the post office had management problems did we arm all the postal workers?

It's a bad idea. Here recently a fist fight between two boys ended up with a dad shooting the other kid.

When a nut has a gun it's the solution to everything.
