Great decision! Welcome aboard. You will fill in nicely for Preston Hadley in a
defense that should see a secondary that can be at least as good as last year if
not better. Craig Bills and Daniel Sorensen are both as talented a safety duo
since Andrew Rich and Scott Johnson. The best part is, is that Sorensen and
Bills can be better. Add them with Jordon Johnson at field corner and the
secondary can be very good in 2013. The best part is that Mr.
Trammell, a cornerback, had scholarship offers from Boise State and Utah and
chose BYU. That bodes well for how his potential at BYU. Well done!
Claws, I think you are confusing powerhouse teams Utah and Boise with utep and
New Mexico. Not one bcs team wanted the kid. That says somethingBut even still, he increases your number of "athletes" from 5 to
6. You must be so pumped!
How can this be? chris b. told me nobody would have an interest in BYU in they
were offered by Utah because Utah is in the mighty PAC12.Could it be
that the school, program, coaches are more important than the conference?Welcome Trent. Cougar Nation looks forward to cheering you on, against
a schedule that rivals any of the PAC12 schools.
New Mexico, UTEP seriously???
Cougar Claws -The best part is he chose BYU over Utah and Boise? He would have been buried in the depth chart at both Utah and Boise...
at BYU he's a star.
UTEP and New Mexico?Sounds like out of 50 BCS programs a total of 0
were pursuing him as of late.Sounds like he'll fit in perfectly
Looks like Trent Trammell wanted a team with TV exposure, and goes bowling. You
could put New Mexico in the PAC, and they're still the same team. The PAC
has a need for weak teams to improve the win/loss records of the others. This
is why Utah, and Colorado were chosen over the Cougs.Mr. Trammell
I am resolute in my belief that this is better than being beaten by NM/UTEP.
Howard S & Chris B - I'm looking at the bowl schedule
trying to find utah on the schedule. Can't find them. Any idea which bowl
they are in??
@Tom in CA,You know the difference between Utah and BYU?In the last 20 years, what is the pinnacle of your success? a WAC or MWC
title? You must be so proud. In th last 20 years, we have 2
undefeated seasons, 1 undefeated season as the only undefeated team in the
country, 2 BCS bowl games, 2 BCS wins, a BCS invite because we earned it, 2 top
5 final rankins, soon to be two #1 draft picks...Yes, we had a bad
year this year. But a 5-7 record in a BCS league is more impressive than a 7-5
record in the WAC.In the next 20 years, you still won't have a
real conference that wants you, still won't have a truly noteworthy bowl
win, still wont have an undefeated season. But hey, I'm sure
your firesides will still be best in the country.P.S. I think Army
won a national championship in like 1930 too. But no one cares about them
either these days.
Cougarfanintx oddly said "How can this be? chris b. told me nobody would
have an interest in BYU in they were offered by Utah because Utah is in the
mighty PAC12."Did you read a different article? The one I read
says "offered by UTEP and New Mexico". UTEP is in El Paso, not Salt
And here I thought that beating New Mexico's little brother 2 yrs in a row
on "Rivalry Weekend" wouldn't necessarily attract the top recruits
in the nation. Boy was I wrong. Another top 2-star DB recruit coveted by the
best schools in West Texas and New Mexico just spurned the Miners and Lobos.Wow, wow, wow! A-maz-ing! All of Utah's DBs have 3-stars...which
is obviously 1-star per player too many. Plus, ours weren't that sought
after by UTEP or UNM. The only other schools interested in OUR DBs were UCLA,
Ariz. St, Ore. St, Wash. St, Utah St, SDSU, and UNLV. Congratulations Cougar
Claws and CougFaninTX. You won THAT round. Plus, you'll always be able to
hang that banner of out-2-star-recruiting-the-Utes over our heads in perpetuity.
Lol, on the day when BYU plays in their bowl game and Utah is sitting at home
sipping egg nog, we have Chris B on here in full meltdown mode and Naval Vet on
here trying to drop recruiting smack...Maybe next year you guys
should try to be in a bowl game. It's fun. Hopefully all of those
'amazing' recruits will help out. Heck, we've already seen
significant improvement this year: last year, you lost to a horrible Colorado
team at HOME, this year you managed to beat an even worse Colorado team by a TD
on their home turf.Big things are in store for the Utes...I can feel
it. As always, it's a great day to be a Cougar!
The spinning, and envy are growing. No bowl is no bowl. Can't spin your
way out of it.
When is the DNews going to stop posting Chris B's racial posts? We all
knows what he means when he says "athletes." Time for it to stop.
Re: Chris B and Howard SYes he did have offers from UTEP and New
Mexico . . .But he also had offers from Utah and Boise State, so no,
I'm not confused. And Howard S, okay so maybe he would be buried
in the depth chart at Utah and Boise . . . but the only point I was
trying to make was that these schools saw fit to offer him, which speaks to his
talent level and shows that he would be a good enough athlete to play for those
two schools, which bodes well for BYU. You should be flattered that
I would give you guys props instead of getting defensive.Lastly, if
Boise and Utah weren't in need of corners, why are they offering a JC kid?
An offer for a JC kid usually that means that schools are in need of a quick fix
at different spots. Maybe this kid would start for Utah or Boise . . . have you
asked the coaches?Admittedly BYU is in need of immediate help at
corner because at least 6 defensive backs are graduating. I am just grateful
this guy is coming into the ranks.Go Cougars!!!
I still don't understand how and/or why BYU fans think they have room to
gloat at Utah fans... Yes, BYU is going bowling, but if Utah had that schedule
they would be going bowling too. I know, I know... ifs and buts... All I know
is Utah has beaten BYU consistently, and won this year, so where do BYU fans get
the nerve? Please tell
Dear reasonableUTE:WambulanceThat is all.
