"I'm a system player, and I loved coach (Jerry) Sloan's system,
..." - Deron WilliamsUnfortunately, hindsight is 20/20. I wish
Deron would have liked Jerry Sloan enough (while he was here) to follow orders,
even when he disagreed with him.
Tried to give it away at the end. That was hard to watch, I thought they blew
it. Good win. Good comeback. Good to beat Deron Williams too. The grass is not
so green is it Deron?
Finally we see Corbin insert some defense down the stretch of this one.(Favors,
Hayward and Carroll) I hope he liked it and we see alot more of it! GO JAZZ!
Another great victory for a squad that appears to be jellin'. The Jazz
moved on well with the best to D-Wil. The two throw-in messups fit a pattern of
lack of concentration. The team has to play well for 40 minutes and not 39 and a
Can anybody please tell me why Tinsley plays while Watson sits? Tinsley plays no
defense, shoots poorly, and makes poor decisions. Other than that he's
Can anybody tell me why Tinsley and Watson play while Burks and Evans sit???
D-Will is a great point guard and I wish him well. I'm very magnanimous
that way when it comes to former Jazz players. OK, I don't feel all that
magnanimous about Carlos Boozer but neither does Chicago these days.
@ Little AndyThat's a darn good question. Knowing Corbin it
must have something to do with their age not their abilities.
It was fun playing there D kid.
Alec Burks hasn't had much playing time, but with the time he's Had,
he's done nothing to prove he deserves more. Foye plays better defense and
shoots better. Evans on the other hand deserves more time on the court.
He's proved it. Watson and Tinsley both have great benefits. Watson is a
bulldog who plays gritty defense. Tinsley is a pass first point guard who pushes
the ball, both shoot a bad percentage (under 40 percent). I like Corbin using
both depending on matchups.
I still can't help & think what our beloved Jazz would look like if we
had a coach, like Sloan, with a solid system. D-Will is a good point guard, but
was an exceptional point guard while playing for the Jazz under Sloan.Tho feisty while here, one thing that could never be said about D-Will is that
he quit. He always gave us his best on the court.P.S. I really wish
we had a better coach right now. Burks, Kanter & Favors would definitely
benefit and mature quicker from having one.
@Bring Back Sloan,I gotta say, I have no idea what you're
complaining about with Corbin. He's proved he's a very good coach.Last year he overachieved by all standards getting the Jazz to the
playoffs. This year most predictions said the Jazz would be fighting for
the 8th spot. They are tied for 6th right now.The only player who
truly has a case for more minutes is Kanter, but he's fighting with our top
scorer for those minutes, so it's tough. Just last night
Corbin showed he goes with whatever lineup works best for a particular matchup,
by ending the game with Favors and Carrol. Before the game started
he said the key against the Nets was to push the ball and go as quick as they
could on offense. When the players executed that game plan in the second half
they took the game from New Jersey. That's great coaching.
