Great story! This is what sports is all about!
I'm very happy for this young man, this is the type of success story
everybody wants to read and hear about.Just hope he can connect with the
right combination of advisors that always act in his best interest.
I agree with proud Ute 100%. Great story for a great young man. I
hope he has much success in the NFL, gets good advisors, and continues to keep
his head on straight.
From the other columns I've read Ziggy has his head on straight. It's
those who would take advantage of his humility that are the sick ones.
It's reassuring to hear that he is getting some good advice. We've
all heard about young inexperienced athletes who are taken advantage of, who
were robbed blind, and had their talent damaged by poor suggestions given by
devious people. It's been an honor to watch Ziggy play at BYU.
He's brought honor to the Church, School and himself. We fans need to
return the honor any way we can.
I've known a number of young men over the years who have gone into
professional sports and been beset by people who sought to use them for personal
gain. The consistent factor in each case has been that they are never trained
enough in financial management or economics to be able to recognize or plot a
wise course for themselves. I've often thought that some specific money
management skills should be part of any scholarship athlete's curriculum.
