    This tax sounds like a grand idea. But sometimes I wonder about some of these slick politicians.

    "...restore lost wages and benefits to county employees"

    I think that is entirely reasonable, when lost wages and benefits are restored for those who are paying the taxes. When those who were laid off are hired again, and those who've had to take part-time work are able to find full-time jobs again.

    But not until then.

    Pretty cowardly of Corroon to propose this on his way out - and to leave a mess with deferred maintanance and other problems.

    Also pretty cowardly of McAdams to not be in attendance.

    Why was this held until after the election to be proposed? Do you really think that McAdams would have been elected had this been put forward before the election?
    When my husband's company was dealing with a recession, and business was bad, the company passed a 10% cut in salaries. It certainly would be nice if a Nation, State, City could use the same kind of prudence in their governing. Instead they raise taxes and life goes on as if everything
    was going along 'swimmingly."
