The game by Burks just shows what I have been saying all along. He needs time
Corbin. Wake up and teach some Defense. This team as is will go nowhere.
Don't know what is bothering Millsap but if he can't produce any
better put him on the bench or trade him. Where is Coach Sloan which is what we
Defense is a no-show in every game. How can one expect to win when Utah puts out
a bunch of geriatrics out on the floor against a younger, more athletic team?
All we have is a bunch of D-league players, players who are 3-4 years past their
prime, and players who no one else in the league would even attempt to put on
their roster, they would be out of the NBA if it wasn't for the Jazz. Our
younger players from the draft should be playing more but Utah would rather play
the "experienced" players even though they are slower and less athletic.
Until the Jazz guards decide to play man defense and stop penetration, they will
remain a bottom tier team. They cannot depend on Jefferson to back up their
Wow Corbin is really struggling due to his misuse of player personel in his
rotations. Defense obviously has a low priority in his coaching style. Why else
would Jefferson, Milsap and Foye be getting all of Kanter, Favors and
I have to agree with John on the 'where is Sloan' thing. A lot of
people would disagree, but Sloan was the king of defense. I've said this
before & I'll say it again, Corbin is a nice bloke, but lacks the
experience NEEDED to be an effective head coach. Burks, Kanter & Favors
desperately need playing time, but aren't going to get it with Corbin
running the show. This is really going to affect their development &
confidence. I love Sap, but for whatever reason, is struggling, as is Hayward.
Watson has been solid off the bench & Mo & Foye have been a pleasant
surprise.Jazz brass, we (the fans) beg you to do what's right
for the team & the fans...replace Corbin.
coaching is the problem...plus too much depth...is bad...you cant rotate good
players...and you end up...sending some of those talented young guns to other
teams...because everyone is blinded by the stats Jefferson is putting up...yeah
he is a 20-10 guy...but he is a constant blackhole in the offense...and an
extreme liability on defense...this is why minnesota gave him for cheap...the
brass should not think of continuity...they should think of putting the best
team on the floor...to win not just games...but championships...if it was
me...im willing to take 2-3 losing seasons...as long as i could see the young
guns develop...the kind that durant went through with OKC...remember they had
one of the worst records before and look at them now...we need a new coaching
staff that knows what they are doing...no offense to mo...but we really need a
pass first PG...or..make hayward to run the plays...which i believe...would be a
Everyone, including me keep complaining about the Jazz defense. There has to be
more than just defense in figuring out what's wrong with the Jazz. The
team is undefeated at home and very few teams can claim that and yet it's
getting done with the same coach and same players that are struggling on the
road. What ever Corbin does or what the players do, it's been good enough
so far to win every home game. I don't think the coach suddenly changes the
defensive scheme when the Jazz are on the road but it seems more likely the
players are not executing as well, both on offense and defense. Coleman 51 goes
too far to say too many players are past their prime or belong in the D league.
There is some great talent on this team but they just have to get tougher
mentally to win on the road.
