Go figure. We have a Utah legislature that refuses to take a stand on illegal
immigration and a chamber of commerce that supports it. Follow the money. With
the current administration in Washington and the Republicrats in Utah we will
get more of the same incompetent decision making that will only shed more burden
on the taxpayers.
May these men rot in jail. This is not a typical immigration issue, but a case
of someone preying on people that are already afraid. And if you really see this
only as a taxpayer burden issue and not people sexually exploiting the young, I
have to wonder about your soul.
I respectfully disagree with jenker. This is most certainly a typical
immigration issue. As a nation, we do little to stop illegal aliens (the proper
legal term for them), and so we invite these criminals to come in. One
lawbreaker is no different than another. It's long been proven , the best
way to stop the big crimes is to stay on top of the little ones. They become the
chink in the armor of enforcement. There is tons of data showing how allowing
people to commit a small offense will escalate.Allowing our borders to
remain so porous means not only will these type of criminals will flourish, but
we're to blame for them being here. We have as much, invited them.
"...others were young girls coerced into participating with the threat of
deportation.""Threat of deportation?" The
adult women? Yes. Obviously they are in the country illegally of their own
volition. The minor children? I don't know about that. It
implies these young minors CHOSE this lifestyle, over deportation. I think that
is an insult to these minors. Number One, they were ILLEGALLY
TRAFFICKED across international lines and then across interstate lines.
That's the point we always seem to miss in the illegal-immigration
discussion. The typical, illegal-alien parent does precisely this when they
choose to illegally invade this nation and bring minor children with them --
even their own. They are ILLEGALLY TRAFFICKING minors across international and
state lines. That ought to be regarded and treated as a Felony all by
itself. Then, in this case, obviously, there are the additional
Felony crimes associated with what can only be regarded as sex slavery, in the
case of the minor children.
@play by the rulesThe implication of your post is comical. By
saying that Republicans indirectly created this situation by not taking a
tougher stand on illegal immigration, you're implying that Democrats
would. The fact is, Democrats have proven to be even more spineless
than Republicans when it comes to illegal immigration. What have federal
Democrats done to combat it? Nothing. In fact, they are actually encouraging
illegal immigration by proposing amnesty programs, etc. It makes sense,
actually - a large (and growing) percentage of the Democratic voting base are
children of illegal immigrants, aka "anchor babies". No smart Democrat
would want to keep them from coming here.
