Hurrah for the good guys. ACLU you lose!,,,
How exactly does the ACLU lose, they had nothing to do with this and have
defended student organizations in similar cases
It always puzzels me? what holiday is a Holiday tree for? ThanksGiving?,
Independance day?, Eater? Presidents' Day?, Valentines day? New Years day?
I mean what holiday is a Holiday tree for? It is a Christmas tress. all be it a
pagan simble of something else. But a Christ_mass tree non the less. Librals get
over it. I will not be politacly correct in speaking the truth.
we have to be sensitive to the atheists and socialist progressives in the
country after all they are always so accommodating to the rest of us. right???
This country is nuts.
What other holiday involves a tree? There is one and ONLY one. What other
holiday involves caroling? There is only one. Yet, I increasingly hear the terms
HOLIDAY trees and HOLIDAY caroling as if there are multiple holidays that
involved trees and caroling. It is ridiculous. Also, I don't
believe for a moment that these administrators thought that they could not use
the word Christmas. Nice try.
I think this article accurately displays the misunderstanding of many in society
of words like "equal," "tolerant," and the idea of free speech.
its amazing how blindly we have catered to minorities and small interests groups
to avoid the appeance of bigotry and hatred but in all reality the scales often
flip sides and a new culture of bigotry is established.
By banning the word "Christmas" from the advertisement, the college
effectively made a rule "concerning the establishment of religion"
contrary to not only the free-speech clause of the first amendment, but also
contrary to the establishment clause of the first amendment."concerning the establishment" applies to the negative as well as the
affirmative - too many people are ignorant of that.
An individual citizen has freedom of speech, but a tax-payer sponsored
organization does not. Tax-payer sponsored organizations must represent
everything and nothing in order to remain on good terms with its funding source.
Being part of a tax-payer supported organization requires the
individual to give up some of their freedom of speech to remain a member. The
more parts of our lives that are run by tax-payer supported organizations, the
less freedom of speech we retain because we run the risk of losing our
membership benefits to speak out against it.
Thank you for allowing the word Christmas!
