I don't want to be negative, and admitted New Mexico St does not have the
best team, is it odd that he threw for 50 and they amassed such totals? With
Riley Nelson it seems a large share of the plays are designed for him to run. It
is a vastly difference offense when you expect your quarterback to be a third
running back on the field.I hope they start Lark for the bowl game.
I'd love to see a traditional air it out offense. Leave that option
scramble stuff for Air Force.
I don't care who BYU played today James Lark showed why he should have been
the starting QB all along. Sure he looked a little rusty here and there but he
hasn't started a game since his senior year at Pine View. I don't know
if he has any interest but his arm, accuracy, pocket awareness and intelligence
make him a candidate for the NFL now lets just hope they start him in the bowl
game but you never with this coaching staff.
If Riley Nelson is a team player, he will give the job to James Lark. If Riley
starts in the bowl game, it will show that he is truly about Riley Nelson and
NOT what's best for the team!
Bronco has some explaining to do. The AD should demand answers. Lark is the best
qb on the team.
I can't watch the game until the midnight replay on BYUtv tonight, so
I'll reserve judgement about whether Lark should've started most of
the year after seeing what kind of pass rush NMSU put up. Doubt it was close to
what Riley faced most of the time. Not that I'm a Riley
supporter---I think he personally lost several games (and that's on the
coaches). But, if Lark had underperformed due to a second-third string offensive
line, then everyone would be second guessing the coaches for THAT decision (to
play Lark over Riley). Can't wait to see this game.
I DO wonder how some of BYU's close losses would have turned out had Lark
at least been given a chance. We'll never know.
Lark starts all season and we are BCS bound.
It's painfully obvious the ego, politics and infighting have taken over the
coaching staff. Bronco is going to stick with his man till the ship sinks. Look,
BYU fans aren't stupid as Bronco has implied. We know what BYU football is
supposed to look and feel like. This year is not it. It has been a comedy of
coaching errors like none we have ever seen here (with the possible exception of
Roger Reid). Time to move on from Bronco and his band of merry men. Time to get
sombody on board that knows BYU football. A guy named Andy Reid comes to mind.
Yet another reason Bronco has to go. Nelson is tough and gritty and a heck of a
competitor; however he should have been the 3rd string quarterback. Hill and
Lark both should be starting over Nelson, but Bronco picks favorites and is to
prideful to admit his mistakes. A petition to get him fired has been started on
Facebook. The page its called "dump Bronco". If you are sick of
mediocrity like me and want a change check out and like the Facebook page to
sign the petition.
