The biggest danger to the students would be as they travel in Israeli areas i.e.
Tel Aviv and its airport, etc. The Jerusalem Center is on the East side of the
city in Palestinian administered territory and neighborhoods. Hamas would never
send a missile anywhere near there as it could also land on the Dome of the Rock
and Haram ash Sharif - the holiest Muslim site there.
Whew!! Because the BYU center was the first thing I was worried about on the
brink of WWIII. Now I can sleep tonight.
Nevertheless, they may want to consider urgent evacuation from the region as the
Israeli military gears up to invade Gaza.
No doubt as prophecy would seem to suggest -- this small corner of the world
seems destined for military conflict.Prophecy also reminds us that
righteousness must also increase -- but that part is up to each of us
individually. I am glad that BYU students are safe. My concerns are with the
many children who must daily live in fear of such aggression. Perhaps we should
all give second thought to what truly constitutes lasting safety.
@ulvegaardIsrael and its neighbors have been at war so many times in the
past 50 years that I don't think you can really consider any of this
prophecy fulfilled seeing as only a naive fool would think there wouldn't
be violence in the region since there always is. Both sides in this
conflict are led by people who have zero interest in pursuing peace and both
deserve plenty of blame.
Nowhere else on earth is the damage done by religion so evident as it is in
Israel. We call it the holy land but it's a place of missiles and rocks.
Ancient history and religion are a curse on us all.
In linking of religion and war one must also remember another "religion"
or religious belief that there is no God, Atheism. Hitler might have been born
Catholic but was he a practicing Catholic after 1932? I don't think so.
Stalin, Tojo, Lenin and the Ukraine famine. The list goes on.As far as the
grudges of ancient history; they will have to wait for improved character
development and enough generations to produce forgetfulness. (Good luck)
I question when and how can different religions find a way to bring Israel and
Palestine into the brotherhood of man. It is wrong that Israel has such
dominance over the daily lives of so many people who have lived now for 60
years under the occupation. The UN mandate said that the land was to be divided
50-50. America tends to stick up for the underdog. Not in this fight. Now, it
looks like the IDF will roll into Gaza. The first thing they are very well
known to do is promote germ warfare by breaking all the water lines, sewer
lines, and electricity, making the spread of water born pathogens more probable.
I do not think Jesus wants this. He was not a warrior, he preached peace,
Would like to see those students rush to Gaza to help victims of this Israeli
attack that will surely, as in past incursions and bombing campaigns, claim many
civilian victims. Since the BYU centre is in Israeli-occupied East Jerusalem, it
might behove BYU to cultivate good relations with Palestinian authorities. East
Jerusalem will one day be the capital of Palestine.
The computer didn't show my last comment got through. Play it again Sam.There was an agreement in 1948 at the time of the founding of Israel. The
Palestinians had their land and the Jews had their. The Palestinians thought
that they would be able to have it all after getting rid of the Jews. They left
with the idea of coming back after the conquest of Israel. That wasn't to
be. Their agression was defeated but they tried again and again to, not decimate
but elimate the Jews. To object to "elimate" disregards truth.Isreal has been the underdog compared to the size of it's united enemies.
It has received before countering with the exception of 1967 when it caught
it's attackers planes on the taxiways.I saw a poster with missiles
raining down on Paris, London, DC, and other cites and asked what we would do.
Try to prevent attackers from crossing the border with fences or more. Retaliate
if needed to show the cost of agression is too great.Bullet56 Bombs

did Jesus mention swords and peace?Google Suez Canal Crisis for
