The daughter of a friend of mine is doing the same thing. But just wait a
couple of years until the boys catch up developmentally. I don't think
she'll be running roughshod over them then.
It's fun for now but once puberty kicks in it will all come to a screaching
halt. I hope they enjoy the ride while it lasts. To be honest with you it may
not even last that long. At that age most of the kids don't really get it
yet. They don't run full speed and they don't realize what they can do
physically. Any kid that does get it, like this young girl obviously does, and
has a decent amount of athletic ability can really dominate at that age. After a
year or two a lot more kids get it figured out and there isn't anyone that
dominates like that any more.
Just watched the video, and then saw the kickoff return on SC Top 10 1 minute
later. Pretty neat!
Girls can excel ahead of boys in many ways, but too often their abilities are
suppressed by a latent sexism that justifies itself by hiding behind empty
arguments about "puberty" and biology and "nature" and
"God's will".How sad.
This girl is FAST. Way to go! Note to DesNews, my Bishop and Bill Cosby would
not approve of the video soundtrack.
@ A Scientist,Are you trying to say that the reason more women
aren't in the NFL is because of sexism? I would like to see the science
behind that. Not sure many women could stand up to the beating that someone the
size of Halot Ngata could deliver.
Uhh..., Scientist, you are aware of the physical differences between men and
women and this hormone called "testosterone," right? Interesting
screen name, "A Scientist."
By the way, how did this sound track get past DN censors, or even parental
censors. Definitely R-rated!
I know this music wasn't what was originally with the highlight film.
Someone else re-posted it with this music on YouTube. Must have been a hasty job
to put up the video. On KSL they have the original music. Bottom line- this
girl's impressive! Very talented athlete! May not play with the boys
forever but she could definitely be a great athlete! She says soccer's her
favorite sport anyways!
