David was an LDS missionary in Florida in 1959 in the Miami to Homestead area.
He was a hard working young man and had a very strong testimony. This breaks my
heart, but I would guess he is a victim of Alsheimers.
I remember how much David adored his wife when we knew them a decade ago. We
purchased the home David had built. He had been the Bishop there before we knew
him, and he often talked about the growth and understanding he received while
serving. I also remember how absolutely sweet and positive Madelin always was.
She was an angel. There can be no judgment, as mental illness is no respecter of
persons. It is tragic for everyone, and I am so sad for the family. Beyond the
passing of their dear "mom and grandma," they have suffered losses that
are hard to imagine. I hope memories of these wonderful people, when they
enjoyed life and health, continue to bring comfort and peace.
