Yea! Don't worry about what the experts say. Just give us 2-3 wins to
beat the odd makers.
OUCH!But, not too surprising. The Runnin' Utes
haven't done anything lately to prove that they don't belong in the
basement, and with Utah's pittifully weak pre-season schedule, even an
improvement in overall record won't prove anything. If the Utes
win 7 or 8 pre-season games, but then crash and burn with another 3-win
conference season, can we really say the Utes have "improved"?By the way, that ugly pre-season schedule isn't going to do anything to
bring the fans back to the Huntsman. Frankly, I'd rather watch the Utes
play well and lose to a decent team, than watch them beat up on a high school
Utah Basketball - The quest to not finish 12th
“I’ve always had the underdog mentality."Kind of
hard not to have that mentality when you really are the underdog. Good luck to
the U, it's going to be a TOUGH year!
Utah needs to stop the bleeding, get its players to stay on...hmm...
It was a lot of fun watching the climb when Majerus first came to the U. Does it
feel great that Utah has to begin the climb again, and from a lower starting
point this time? No. But there's truth to the ole quote "the joy is in
the journey". I for one am excited to watch things come back together.
It won't happen all at once, but I believe we finally have the right
coaches and players in place to begin taking steps forward and surprising a few
people along the way.
Gotta agree with Motor.I think this team will surprise some folks
too. Keep your heads up Utes!
Let's talk (or laugh)about the Ute's preseason bb scheule. Idaho St?
(please don't talk about byu playing them in football anymore) maybe a win,
Wright St. doubtful a win, so 1-1 okay, the texas road trip, SMU and Texas St.
another maybe 1 win, so now 2-2, now Boise St and BYU, loss and loss, so now
we're at 2-4, then SMU again at home, Cal St. Northridge (a decent team)
and College of Idaho, (didn't know there was a 'college of
idaho')give them 2-1 at home there so that makes them a wopping 4-5 heading
intothe pac-12. I see maybe3 wins in the conference, so a final 7-20 season.
Welcome to the Pac-12.
@murraymikeI thought we weren't supposed to talk about
byu's football schedule yet you are bagging on Idaho - it doesn't make
sense. As far as this years Utah basketball team goes nobody is
excited about their out of conference schedule. I think most Utah fans are just
looking for the Utah basketball program to improve. Nobody is talking about
winning the conference or going to the NCAA tournament just steps forward.I'm sure all Utah fans appreciate your well thought out predictions
but it might be time to focus on your own program and how it's star is
fading fast. They weren't picked to win their conference either and that
is sad considering the WCC won't be as good as they were last year.Go Utes!
@qwestYea they're fading alright, fading right into the NCAA
tournament, again. Fading right into another 25 win season. Fading right into a
top 10 recruiting class while being one of the final 5 finalists for the #1
recruit in the nation. I'll take that sort of "fading" program
anyday. Of course it is impossible for utah to fade, to do that a
team actually has to be able to be worse. utah was the worst major college
basketball team in the country last year and probably the worst basketball
program. Can't "fade" any more than that I suppose.LOL!
QP"I thought we weren't supposed to talk about BYU's
football schedule, yet you are bagging on Idaho - it doesn't make
sense."That's because you're not making sense.MurrayMike didn't mention Idaho. That would be a HUGE step up from
the school he did mention, the College of Idaho. To give you an idea
of just how tiny the 1,000 student liberal arts College of Idaho is, the Yotes
(yes, that's their nickname) currently have an online poll asking fans to
vote for which school is their biggest rival. The choices?Eastern OregonNorthwest NazareneOregon TechLewis-Clark
StateWhen Ufan mentioned that Utah's schedule this season was
so bad, it was going to be like watching the Utes beat up on high school teams,
that's no exaggeration. Lone Peak High School could win 10 games playing
Utah's out of conference schedule.Utah fans just better hope
that the Utes are good enough this year to dominate these out of conference
opponents, because losing to a team like College of Idaho would be an
embarrassment of epic proportions - even worse than losing to the University of
Boylen was run out of town, yet Coach K2's wins from last season plus this
season may be lower than Boylen's worst season. Loveridge is the only
piece to build on, and it wouldn't surprise me to see him bolt to USU after
this season. The revolving door will continue and Utah will have eight new
faces next year. Eight to ten wins max for the next two years, only because of
a high school type non-conference schedule. This has to be embarrassing to the
Ute BB faithfulHow can any intelligent Ute fan take shots at
BYU's BB program? The person either has their head in the sand, is
ignorant, or can't see past the bitterness. This team is stacked, and the
commits include Isaac Neilsen, Chapman, Emery, Haws, Mika with Collinsworth
coming back from a mission. There is even a 20% chance we get Parker.
Just like the football team! What's next, the Gymnastics team.New poll, how many years before the football team has a winning record. I'll guess 4 for the LV Bowl.
Rah! Rah! Sis! Boom! Bah-loney!In the immortal words of Huey Lewis,
"Sometimes, Bad is Bad!"
"There is even a 20% chance we get Parker"Even though the
cougs are one of 4 teams or so that Parker lists as "finalist", we all
know that is only a tip of the hat to his religion's school. Nothing
more.It would be more like 75% chance to go to Duke, 20% to Mich
State, 4% to Ill. and 1% to byU. Maybe less, but keep dreaming.
utahcountyute"Even though the cougs are one of 4 teams or so

welcome to yourown misguided, biased opinion, but Jabari, his parents, and
Jabari's parent have all directly refuted that.Whether he picks
BYU or not won't change the fact that Jabari included BYU on his final 5
list because BYU has a great basketball program and coaching staff, and Jabari
is seriously considering signing with BYU.

DuckYou "suppose" wrong. 1-25:)BlueGo ahead and hang your hat on the fact that Jabari ALMOST picked byU. Just
like Manti Teo and a bunch of other athletes. That's what byU
utahcountyuteSorry to burst your BYU-hating bubble, but BYU already
has a Top 10 2013 recruiting class to hang their hat on, even without Jabari.Unlike the Utes, who are hanging their hat on playing a high school
schedule just to fool themselves into believing that the rundown Utes are

PacIt was actually 96 and no they did not lose to any HS teams but
they did lose to a lowly PAC 10 team by 51. OUCH
