95% of the Snake Valley is in Utah. If Nevada drills in it's 5%, it will
drain water from the Utah side. Las Vegas needs to find another source for its
water, like maybe a pipeline to the ocean, but it shouldn't be allowed to
take Utah water.
Gov. Herbert's handling of this important situation has been disturbing.
Whenever it makes headlines he responds that he will "thoroughly study"
the concerns, and then when it fades from public awareness he moves toward
accepting it. This "agreement"--which almost no one in Utah outside the
governor's office seems at all agreeable to--is a bad deal. The only reason I can think of that Gov. Herbert would be willing to even
consider this giveaway of such valuable Utah resources is he doesn't want
