"not jealousPark City, UTI rather doubt two bottom feeders is
going to draw a standing room only crowd.12:10 p.m. Oct. 26,
2012""Saturday’s game was the Utes’ 16th
consecutive sellout at Rice-Eccles Stadium."Hmmmm...
This is interesting if not ironic change of events. Last year Doman
started out on the field because (I believe) he wanted to mentor a young QB and
was pretty thoroughly criticized or at least second guessed until he went up to
the box. This year BJ started out up in the box and now we're starting
a freshman QB he's staying down on the field. Can't wait to see
how these turns out.
StGtoSLCSelling out a cracker box isn't anything to beat your
chest about.BYU was drawing crowds of over 46,000 THIRTY years ago,
BEFORE Cougar Stadium was expanded. The Cougars have averaged over 60,000 since
1982!Of course we all know why Hill hasn't expanded RES - all
he has to do is look a couple of blocks East to that vast sea of empty red
chairs in the HC to realize what could easily happen at RES as soon as the Utes
go a couple of years without a bowl.
Jealous,Nice! Attendance smack to go along with the lame tv
contract smack. I guess that's all you have to go with when your team
can't beat the Utes on the field.
U 90It's flattering that despite all of your PAC 12 chest
beating, the ONLY thing Ute nation really cares about...is beating
lowly, irrelevant, independent BYU.
Sky,I value the sugar bowl and fiesta bowl wins way more than any
byu win... Because they don't happen every year. On the other hand beating
byu is a fairly common occurance nowadays
Jealous Blue, a few dozen families all bringing their kids to the first half
hour of a game, before leaving for 10:00 bedtime on a school night, totaling 60k
for some portion of the game is still at least 5,000 away from selling the place
out. When you get halfway to the streak Utah is at right now, let me know.
@stgBYU has far surpassed utah's "streak". BYU
hasn't had a game with only 45,000 fans in attendence in over 30 years.
What you really mean is when utah gets halfway to BYU's streak let us know.
The problem is utah can't even begin to start a streak like that because
they do not have a stadium big enough, or a "fan"base big enough, to do
it. Selling out a 45,000 seat stadium is still 15,000 away from what BYU does
every week, and 20,000 away from most weeks.
How many BCS bowl games has byu been to? Oh none you say? And I'm sure
1984 is repeating in all your heads. Wasn't that quite awhile ago? Kinda
makes it.... 'irrelevant'. I guess there is still lots to talk about
with all the goings on at BYU (besides jealousy) which would be? Go ahead.
Duck, cool story. Let me know when it's a sell out, though.
@stgLet me know when you guys actually climb back to .500
DuckhunterBYU has a bigger fan base, and we all know why.The point is Utah has sold out RES 16 times in a row and despite being 3-5,
Saturday will make it 17 in a row. Meanwhile BYU has only sold out LES 3 times
in their last 12 home games and I wouldn't count on it being full for Idaho
either.Percentage wise, BYU fans are clearly more "fair
@two for flinching"BYU has a bigger fan base, and we all know
why."Because more people like them? Because their history of
success is far greater? Because utah's "fan"base isn't real?
What we all know is that res will eventually become just like the
hc, basicly empty. @stgWhen res is more than half full
after the half in a game utah is losing then you can tell us about
"fans" sticking around until the end.
Ok Duckhunter, act naive. But LOL @ your "real" fan base. 3
sellouts out of the last 12 vs. 17 straight. Try selling out your stadium
before pulling out the fan base smack.I know that you were in Tulsa,
but you should have seen the mass evacuation in LES during the third quarter of
the Utah game last season. Glass house my friend....
