The headline says it all: we've obviously given up on our offense being
able to put points on the board - now we're hoping our defense can hold the
other side down while we score 12 points. We have all debated this for weeks, it
comes down to trying a different QB, different plays, changing coaching
assignments, etc. Going at it with the same Offensive scheme will not work.
Yeah, the real issue here is speed. GT has it, BYU does not. BYU Defense will
not be able to contain the corners past the first quarter. Sorry, but I think I
see another loss coming. That's OK, your record is still better than
Utah's.GT 27BYU 10
If you are in Utah the game is also on Root Sports TV. Outside of Utah it is on
ESPN3 if you have it.
Riley Nelson still playing? Oh yeah its still 2012, sigh. More turn
If they have such a potent offense, why are they 3-4? Weak defense? Actually I do trust Bronco that he will adequately defend an option offense.
It's their passing game that will potentially hurt us. However I
don't hold much faith that we'll be able to move the ball much against
a subpar defense.
I think BYU will win this one. I'm pulling for them.
If we have to depend solely on the defense to keep us in the game, we lose. We
need an offensive explosion. Their defense isn't that great. If we tank
this one, I think we have to point the finger at the offensive scheme and QB
GT will easily exploit the supposedly strong BYU defense. Our Heeroh, Riley
Nelson will fumble three times, throw four INT's and be sacked no less that
eight times. His passing numbers will be bloated because of the high number of
shovel "passes" that he will "throw" because of his total lack
of arm strength and accuracy. The RB's will have all the receiving yards as
a result. After the game, Doman will spew his excuses, and Bronco will be
explaining--to anyone who might be listening anymore--that the game was a
teaching moment and the BYU players will take a lot from the experience and
blah, blah, blah, blah.....In the end, GT 45 BYU 9
