The book is very good. However, the author leaves the impression, from a quote
by Brigham Young, that Spirit Prison and Paradise are the same place, that the
people are separated only by their preference to associate with whom they are
comfortable. The author does not use the best scripture in all of the standard
works about the subject, Alma 40:11-13, which suggests that Spirit Prison and
Paradise are two very different and distinct places.
To: thehawk Alma 40:11-13, which suggests that Spirit Prison and *Paradise are
two very different and distinct places. True,The word "paradise"
is found several places in the O.T. . The LORD(YHWH) God planted a
garden(paradeisos, G#3857) eastward in Eden;(Gen 2:8 Septuagint). ;Today
you shall be with me in paradise; (Lk. 23:43). For those who die in Christ,
death is union with the Lord. Jesus informed the dying thief. Desire to
*depart and to be with Christ (Phil. 1:23). Paul uses the term *analuo (loosed
up) At death, though the body is loosed down. When Lazarus died, his spiritwas
carried away by the angels into Abrahams bosom(Lk. 16:22)At death, all who
have lived in rebellion to God will enter a spirit state characterized by pains,
trouble, and sorrow (Psa. 116:3). They will be immersed in shame and contempt
(Dan. 12:2). It will be a realm of anguish, suffering, and torment (Mt. 22:13;
25:46; Thes. 1:9; Rev. 20:10).
I don’t expect my religious beliefs to make any difference in what might
await me when I die. I don't wish to offend anyone in here but to me that
is a sick notion and a principle factor in why so many people reject rigid
religious belief systems.
I have read several books and stories regarding this topic. If you don't
think it is important to know what you can about the spirit world.. you are
missing out on some of the mysteries of the Kingdom of God.Here is
what I do know: It is important for us to acquire knowledge of the spirit world
while we are in the flesh. The more knowledge we acquire here.. the further and
faster we will progress there. Because of lack of knowledge or belief, some
spirits are virtual prisoners of this earth. Some who die as atheists or chose
who have bonded so the world through greed, bodily appetites, or other earthly
commitments find it difficult to move on, and they become Earth-bound. They
often lack the faith and power to reach for, or in some cases even to recognize,
the energy and light that pulls us toward God. These spirits stay on the earth
until they learn to accept the greater power around them and to let go of the
world.Knowledge is power.
