Whatever makes you feel better Jonathan Boldt.
It most certainly does indicate how competitive they were. The game is 4
quarters, and it was tied going into the 4th quarter. They didn't compete
in the 4th quarter. They were outplayed on both sides of the ball. Their defense
is supposed to be the strength of their team and their strength failed them by
giving up as many points in the 4th quarter as they did the previous three.
Offensive line, Riley Nelson. Same problems as before. BYUtv color guys
commented afterward that .."we just have to count on a couple of bad passes
from Riley each game...". WHY???? I like a lot of things about Riley, but he
is NOT a big game quarterback, and his short runs in the midfield, while
entertaining, are not enough to produce wins when throwing the ball away 2 -3
times per game. .. I suspect that James Lark (or maybe Alex Kuresa?)could have
done no worse with the ball. Likely better. Let's not sacrifice the next
two games on the alter of what we wish Riley could do; there are several well
reputed players who well may outperform his charitable passing habits...we
haven't got much to lose by giving them a shot, and are likely to lose it
anyway if we stay on Nelson Road..
