Living off the land, he is one up on most of us. I know of a few people who are
also living this lifestyle now because of the economy and shutting down the US
industrial might. And I'm sure the DWR can supply many names to this list
where occupying in the wilderness and homesteading is now their way of life. But
that doesn't make them dangerous criminals and the need for death squads to
take pursuit.Besides, there is very little proof this man is a
threat to anyone but a bear or mountain lion and broken door locks. Or that he
has committed all the crimes they blame him for.Maybe the DWR should
put out a reward for those living off the land to report grows of marijuana and
drug companies and even identify the operators working them. Kind of a free
lance workforce giving them a little spending money.
Living off the land? He is breaking into cabins and stealing their food and
supplies. Living off others perhaps.
my2cents - Maybe you missed the story. Your idea of living off of the land is
quite backwards if you think living off of the land means stealing supplies from
others. You seem to be making light of what this criminal is doing. You
aren't one of those people with a cabin that has been vandalized and
burglarized by the criminal. He is a real danger, and he has threatened (with
notes) those owners of cabins he has broken into. He has been caught on other
peoples property, both on video and still camera. Do you think that it is just a
coincidence that cabins were broken into after he was spotted? I wouldn't
want my family out at a cabin alone with this nut job roaming the hills. He is a
criminal, and is obviously unstable. He is not the type of person you want to be
carrying a gun. He is dangerous. He is not a survivalist, he is a moocher. He
has not survived by using the land, but rather the merchandise of those who he
stole from. I hope he gets caught or doesn't make it through the winter.
sounds to me like a common thief - that happens to live in the mountains. I have
to wonder where this nut case lives during the winter months? You can't
prance around in the snow at degrees temperatures for 4 months. Seems like the
sheriff could find this guy during the winter months hold up in some cabin. If
this guy is armed I would be fearful of having a run in with him during the
hunting season. Very dangerous.
Hopefully he'll be covered by Obamacare
