My question is, why do restaurant managers think customers want to sit in 60
degree restaurants in the summer, when we're dressed for hot weather? We
shouldn't need to bring a jacket to have dinner. It's dumb to spend a
lot of money on air conditioning to make the restaurant uncomfortable.
PS The New Zealand numbers mentioned in the article were not converted
correctly to Fahrenheit.
Some observations from the workplace: First, thermostats never work, so it
doesn't matter what you set the temperature to; the climate control system
will fail to function properly anyway. Second, even if the thermostat is
working properly, the vent system will have been improperly designed, leaving
some areas hot and others cold. Third, even if you by some miracle found a
building that mitigated factors one and two, you can't make everyone happy;
I'm comfortable at a much warmer temperature than the guy who sits in the
cube right next to me.You just can't win.
