I disagree with the entire premise of this article. BOTH teams definitely had
lucky spots in this game. How about the obvious pass-interference call that
should have been called when Joe Hill was sandwiched by two Utes seconds before
the ball got to him on a third down to kill an Aggie drive? How about the
clipping call being called on the Aggies when the refs missed an obvious
facemask grab by the Utes in the same play? Calls go both ways in games. This
one was no different. The Aggies were good more than they were lucky. The Utes
couldn't run at all on this Aggie D-line and they knew it.
@Aggie24USU deserved the win. I thought the game was officiated okay
except that Utah did have tough calls on crucial plays. USU recovered three of
their own fumbles as well. The ball bounced your way tonight. After last year
when Utah State lost 4 games they should have won, they were due. The Aggies
fought hard late in the game when Utah was the bigger stronger team. Big win for
USU. Tough loss for Utah. It's sad to see a team full of talent suffer from
poor offensive line play, special teams, and QB issues. The defense, RBs and WRs
are real good. The skill guys need the ball in their hands. It's going to be a long season on the hill.
Chris B.Ouch...well there is always basketball...Ooo, ouch
again..well there's ugh, ugh, ugh...Oh yes, the Red Rocks.
The Utah State team deserves a great deal of praise. They had a little luck,
but the reality is they also made the plays. They earned the win. However, it seems that Aggie fans have less luck when it comes to money.
Right now they are helping pay $10 million a year to subsidize the Utes athletic
program. Why would any BCS team that is receiving all kinds of money from a
billion dollar TV contract need taxpayer subsidies? Tax money marked for
education should go to education - not to subsidize a Ute athletic program that
already has a billion dollar TV contract. It is time for Aggie fans to force
the state legislature to remove the subsidy for BCS athletics.
Thanks for coming Utes. I hope you enjoyed your trip to #TheHouseofPainCome back any time.I guess size doesn't matter, stadium size
that is.I can see why you don't want to schedule us anymore
though, it ends your National Championship chances.I will say, the
worst thing for us was when we took out Wynn.2 state victims down, 1
to go, get ready byu. We're coming wisconsin.GO
@gdogYou sound down, and I'm not trying to rub it in. You know
I think you're one of the better guys around here. You are correct about
utah's issues though, and brian johnson is also an issue. I still think
utah pulls out a similar season to last years, there are some pretty bad teams
in the pac12 so utah should beat the majority of them. I just don't see
much chance of them beating the better ones.whittingham has to learn
that the qb position is actually important.
It wasnt luck for the Aggies. What a poor article. Anyone who has watched this
team the last two years coud see this coming. Just because the Aggies won
doesnt mean the Utes are horrible. People in Utah might want to realize there
are three good football teams in the State. The other thing people in Utah may
not realize is that all three campus are nice including Logan. When I visited
last summer for the first time Logan stunned me with its beauty. Anderson is
selling that to those outside the State and it is working.
From ESPN quoting Jon White "It's devastating, because we lost to a
team that's not even in the Pac-12"I think your heads got a
bit too big there uties. So happy you lost! I am happy U are sad.
"Luck is where hard work meets opportunity"Congrats Aggies!
Utah, lady luck dissed you bad, but that IS what snake bit feels like - a
feeling BYU has suffered with for a year. See you soon.
USU outplayed the Utes on the majority of the plays. USU won the line of
scrimmage battles more often.
Luck? Boo. ESPN's whole game was built around the idea that Utah was the
story to cover and because of that they missed the REAL stories. "Star
Lotulelei just hasn't been a factor in this game yet." Why is that
ESPN? It's because Tyler Larsen and the O-line were able to go toe -to-toe
with the "Best defense in the nation". This USU team is stronger as a
team than they have ever been. They are playing smart and the whole mindset of
the Aggies is that of a winning team.
