...if you play a football game and no one watches, did you really play at all?
Watching BYU vs WSU (a PAC-12 team) on ESPN here in southeastern Arizona. Would
have watched Utah vs who? but no PAC-12 TV on DishNetwork. Congrats Utah on the
win but how many people actually saw it? Would also like to watch University of
Arizona play. Alas . . . So tell me again how great joining the PAC-12 has been
for Utah's TV exposure vs BYU's ESPN deal.
AZgrandma, the PAC12 network is in it's inaugural year and while
distribution is limited today it will get better over time. The majority of
Utah's games will be on ESPN & Fox which you can get on satellite. One
of the primary benefits of joining the PAC12 is the TV contract ($32MM by 2015).
While the exposure BYU is getting on ESPN is great their contract will be 75%
less than Utah's. Had BYU been invited to join the PAC12 I'm pretty
sure they wouldn't have turned down the opportunity... they would have done
the same thing Utah did. just wondering, yeah Utah really did play
the game, they beat N. Colorado by 41.... 3 points less than their win over....
U 90Lots of excuses, but bottom line, the PAC 12 failed to deliver
what they've been promising for over a year - a nationwide PAC Net.Sorry to burst your crimson bubble, but if U can't even watch a
Utah game in SLC unless you have Comcast, U don't have anything even
remotely resembling a nationwide network.BYUtv was showing a replay
of the BYU-WSU game an hour after the nationwide ESPN broadcast finished.Keep trying to convince yourself that the PAC Net is an improvement, but
anyone with even a hint of objectivity can plainly see thatBYUtv
> PAC Net
"In a pregame press conference, Scott noted that the Pac-12 Networks likely
won't be on DirecTV in the foreseeable future"But that
isn't what motorbike, naval vet, and the other in the know utah
"fans" have been telling us. According to them a "deal was
eminent" a couple of weeks ago and now scott is saying it won't happen
"in the forseeable future". What does that mean? My guess is not this
season and maybe not even next season. Keep tyring to spin this as a
good thing utah "fans" but the truth is it is not good, it is bad. I
suppose you can all switch to comcast.
U 90"the PAC12 network is in it's inaugural year..."Really? What a pathetic excuse.I know some Girl Scouts that
can sell cookies and deliver the goods better than Larry Scott and company can
do media deals. When local fans in the state can't watch the
games you have ask... Where is KJZZ when you need them? The PAC 12
has had well over a year to do this deal. Truth be known I'm betting they
knew the carriage problems months ago and are just ginning this up now to save
face. I'm also thinking that they weighed this ahead of time
and felt OK that the big teams, USC, Oregon, Stanford would get plenty of
national exposure through the FOX and ESPN deals and had enough regional
coverage to satisfy the majority of the fans.Utes, Buffs, AZ, etc...
not so much. That's my take, and I've been pretty close to
being correct in all of this.Keep those excuses coming!
Haters gonna hate...all I got to say is...Go UTES!!!
