Former NFL player says he did nothing illegal, pleading guilty 'would be a lie'
This just proves the old saying "if something appears to be to good to be
true, it probably isn't".
Track record is spotty.
not sure what is unclear about stealing gas. Either you did you didn't.
Obviously the construction company was not giving Mahe the gas for free so that
means he stole it. Am I missing something??
Yes Patriot, you are missing something. Reno did not independently hack a
computer system. Another individual committed that crime and advised Reno that,
based on his arrangement with his employer, the fuel was free. This falls into
the same category as wearing a stolen watch that someone gave to you. Reno
recognizes that he was a poor choice of character, but his actions involved
neither malicious nor criminal intent. Reno's "no contest" claim is
reasonable. It allows him to reimburse the party that he unintentionally harmed.
This situation has been an obstacle and an embarrassment to Reno and his family.
If I were in this situation, I would jump at the opportunity to walk away from a
mess like this for just $3,000.
I knew we could agree on something eventually, patriot.Floyd, get
real.If you see someone selling 50" brand new flat screen
TV's in a parking lot for $100, would you buy one?"based on
his arrangement with his employer, the fuel was free."Don't
know about you, but if I filled up, I am pretty sure I would know that I was
doing something wrong.Wouldn't you?
I think Mahe is a good guy overall but sometimes may fall into that "act
first think later" mode of thinking. Like when he first committed to play
for the Utes and then his later his mother told him that he was going to go
commit to play for BYU. He wasn't really thinking there in the first place
either. He's made mistakes but it's not the crime of the century
I don't know. Isn't it common sense that no company would give free
gas to friends and contacts of an employee? Seriously, 19 people said they could
testify they were offered free gas. How many more are there that have their lips
sealed? Pleading no contest doesn't take away poor judgment
I'm pretty sure that if he did that while going to the University of Utah,
he would have gotten a maximum of a three games suspension.
Free gas? Right! Good one!
