I have Directv and the stationed mentioned are never viewed in my house... Tell
Viacom to take a hike and lower my monthly billing Directv.Viacom
should be careful about what it wishes for.
Called Directv and told them I never watched the Viacom channels and as far as I
was concerned they could delete them and lower my bill.... They decreased my
bill by $10 dollars a month. They offered, I accepted. Works for me. How about
you? Make a call.
DirecTV is more expensive than Comcast. Both are more expensive than Dish.
Joining Dish sounds like the best way to save.
The traditional media companies are all bleeding customers and desperate to keep
them. When we cancelled DirecTV more than a year ago, they offered 6 months of
$0/month. Catch was, another two-year contract.I'm sure
I'm missing some part of the whole equation to make a real assessment, but
it seems to boil down to greed, right?
So, of my over 120 channels, I view about 10-15 of them semi-regularly. I find
it ironic that Directv says in the story that the broadcasters shouldn't
bundle less viewed with more viewed channels, isn't that what Directv does?
I would like to see an "ala carte" form of purchasing channels. Maybe $1
per month per premium channel and 2 for $1 for others. I would save a ton of
money this way, and it would be easier to find what I wanted. I'm calling
them right now and asking for the Owlmaster2 discount.
Wasn't congress considering an ala carte bill to allow consumers to only
pay for the channels they want. Apparently the current business model would
collapse along with a majority of channels, so we are forced to subscribe to all
of the undesired channels to get the ones we want, and pay dearly. DirecTV
makes you pay for HD, while we still have about 20 or 30 local channels that are
free in HD off the antenna. Kids will miss the Nick channels, but MTV and VH1
no longer play music videos, like the Weather channel no longer has weather.
And we usually watch only 4 channels besides the locals, ESPN, ESPN2, Fox News,
and Food Network, making DirecTV pretty expensive just to watch 4 channels.
I called Direct TV this morning, and I don't think the right hand knows what
the left hand is doing. Out of all VIACOM channels involved, the only one we
even watch regularly is TV Land, and on occasion,Nick at Nite. Over the past
five years,Comedy Central mostly plays stuff that is either lame, raw,or been on
a thousand times before. They can have most of it,including MTV and VH!
Here's an idea.JUST LOWER MY BILL!
I love the comments of owlmaster of kaysville! We should all follow suite!
Owlmaster2 - I'll bet your bill goes up $10 per month once this dispute is
settled and the Viacom channels come back. They will be added back to your
package even if you don't want them.
First world problems..
Dish has the most hd channels in the industry, highest rated customer service,
best DVR by far, and most importantly it's much cheaper than directv.
