There is no doubt that this was just an election year stunt. The Latino community celebrates and advocates for law and order decry it for what it is.

You want enforceable immigration laws? That is easy. Make the laws self enforcing. All you have to do is offer a large cash reward, like $10 grand. (paid for with a large fine on businesses that hire illegal aliens) to the first person to turn in an employer that knowingly hires illegal aliens or looks the other way when they hire them. You also have to make certain that illegal aliens are eligible for the reward.

Do the same with land lords. Make it illegal to rent to illegal aliens and how do you enforce it? Require that the land lords refund 100% of the rent.

Deporting people who came here when they were very young and have been raised in the USA is cruel. They may not even know the language of their home country. Issuing an executive order is just another attempt to make an end run around congress.

Obama should be impeached for his abuse of power in regards to his use of executive orders.

Not a fan of Obama until yesterday. It's about time something sensible was done to begin to fix the crazy immigration mess. Of course it's politics. It's ALL politics. Politics can be used for good or ill. This time it's good. Now let's see if Congress can make a permanent fix instead of whining about the president.

They are not eligible since they broke the law and run from deportation. Or will Obama erase all crimes to make them all eligible.

    The separation choice is theirs.

    To SLars,

Violation of immigration law is not a criminal offense. Rather, it is a civil violation of immigration law. While I am generally not an Obama fan, I applaud this move.

So let me get this straight. We are celebrating the fact that these sisters are allowed to continue to break US immigration law because the President acted like a dictator and wrote an executive order telling Immigration Control to break the law by halting deportations.

Didn't the President say to a latino group last year that he can't fix the immigration laws without getting the laws changed?

Tell me liberals, why are we celebrating breaking the law? Shouldn't we be ashamed of these actions?

RBN- Violation of immigration law may not be a criminal offense, but the offenses committed by illegals once they get here are. Illegals routinely commit criminal offenses like fraud, forgery, perjury, ID theft, tax evasion, etc. etc. etc. In fact, they HAVE to commit those types of crimes to remain here illegally and work here illegally. When are people going to learn that illegals are NOT victims, but rather they are criminals and they have no one to blame but themselves if their families are broken up due to their criminal activities?
