Duckhunter - the 40MM homes is just a starting point based on current commitments. When Direct TV and DISH add the package that number will go up considerably. Personally I will save my prayer requests for something more important than how much coverage the PAC 12 network achieves.

"Or else I won't be going anywhere." Of course you're not going anywhere. You have nothing better to do. Just give it up and admit you're a Utah fan. Oh sorry. Utah "fan."

    "He is obsessed with me.."

You labeling anyone else as 'obsessed' is adorable.

Trust me, none of the Utah fans here are surprised you were the first one to comment on another one of our articles.

"our" articles huh? Yea because you choose to like a program it makes it 'your' article.

    LOL!

The clock is ticking. The P12N is coming to a TV near you, and to the Internet.

    Bye-bye ducky!

    LOL!!!

Woah Duck, getting a little jealous there? You don't need to actually admit that Utah is your favorite team, and as far as your life is concerned, certainly the most relevant college football program. Just keep following and commenting on our articles about our team, all day every day :)

You are setting yourself up for a very large letdown.

    duckytheprevaricator:

Truth be told, I don't think any of us Ute fans take you at your word, or expect you to keep it. You are too obsessed with the Utes' success to stay away, so you'll spin your "promise" as it suits you for the moment.

    Typical y "fan".

    LOL, indeed!!!

So Athlon predicts Utah as 4-5 and 7-5 overall.

Wait Ducky... we are expected to go 3-0 in OC play, that means 3 straight over your sorry team.

I don't agree, 8-4 at worse and 10-2 at best.

The five toughest games in order are:

    1) USC
    2) @Washington
    3) Cal
    4) @UCLA
    5) @ASU

I think we should be able to win at least 2 of those 5 (Cal and @UCLA) games, ASU is also beatable. So 5-4 at worst and 8-4 overall.

"Content includes football, basketball and myriad Olympic sports that member schools are renowned for worldwide."

Well that's a barrel of laughs, especially since the Deseret Duel and the confession of several Ute fans that trashed everything and summarily dispatched all sports but football. Hilarious.

Loved the Athlon predictions, they are right on for my mediocre Utes, 4-5.

PAC Network... little regional networks galore, Utah / Colorado, best buds forever with only a little access to national exposure depending on who they play. Expanded basic? The rest of the nation will have to pay for a sports package? No mention of satellite deals yet?

Well it sounds like the local yokels will be ok. Only two more months and some concrete info will be forthcoming.

"The clock is ticking. The P12N is coming to a TV near you, and to the Internet."

It's nice to dream... but the reality is...

A DirectTV executive scoffed at the idea that they would even consider adding all 7 PAC 12 Network Stations. At best, you'll get the main PAC 12 Network (which the Utes will hardly ever appear on) on some cable systems and on either DirectTV or Dish.

Get used to paying extra for Live Streaming in low def.

Snack, is it that you can't learn, or that you won't learn?

According to Jon Wilner's blog (San Jose MercNews) College Hotline, June 12, 2012 entry:

"I’m not sure the conference expects DirecTV to pick up the full slate of networks in the first place. As long as DirecTV picks up the Pac-12′s national network, the vast majority of fans will be satisfied.

"Remember, the national network will carry 350 live events, including all football and men’s basketball games not shown on ESPN or Fox, plus hundreds of women’s basketball and top-tier Olympic sports events."

So, prepare to say goodbye on Utah articles to your alter ego ducky on August 15, 2012. Of course, we'll look to you, sam, Y Grad and the usual suspects to provide the usual blue-tinted hilarity.

"the national network will carry 350 live events, including all football and men’s basketball games not shown on ESPN or Fox, plus hundreds of women’s basketball and top-tier Olympic sports events"

... all on a premium tier that only die-hard PAC 12 fans will bother to subscribe to - not that any Utah fans will bother subscribing to anything besides football season anyway, since Utah basketball is a trainwreck, and top-tier Olympic sports are non-existent at the U
