I was reading my daughter-in-law's copy recently and loved the stories.
The one major flaw is that the author of each chapter is not mentioned. I had
read about the tribute to Ann Romney by her son in another venue. But I had no
clue who wrote the other articles. They chapters became more tender when I knew
it was written by a family member who knew the best and worst about the woman in
I love this book. As one who dislikes attending Mother's Day services, I
thought this book would be story after story about angel Mormon moms.
Thankfully, it is not. Although there are some truly angelic mothers (Marjorie
Hinckley & Esther Packard come to mind), there are plenty of stories that
honor the REAL mothers I relate to, who struggle, try hard, fail at times, yet
keep plugging away at life. With regard to the previous comment
about not knowing who wrote each story...I saw a bio on every contributor. It
may not be at the beginning of the story, but it's definitely there in
every case. Must've missed it.
