Parties will pick 1 or 2 candidates for key position
Let's save time. Scratch Cook, McAdams, Decker, Winder, and Snelgrove off
the ballot right now and move on with the rest.
I'm a delegate to the Democrats' convention and am undecided about the
mayoral contest. I will say, though, that Romero has been quite aggressive in
his campaign and even called me (a total stranger new to Utah politics) on the
phone. At this point, both candidates appear to be competent, and I tend to
think that a primary campaign, if it remains civil, would be good for the party.
"Two-term incumbent Mayor Peter Corroon, also a Democrat, is ending his time
in office with a positive fiscal record and good pubic image. Democrats see that
as an opportunity to follow on."I don't think that is the
"image" that Mayor Corroon has portrayed.
