There is a problem with Mitt Romney having a friendship with Benjamin Netanyahu?
At least he won't be bowing down to the King of Saudi Arabia like Obama
I would think this would be an advantage. The left in this country is so
anti-semitic, they probably see this as a problem.
The word "appease" has been bandied about ever since Neville Chamberlain
returned from his famous meeting with Hitler, not always in the correct manner.
Allowing Israel to pursue its own foreign policy without interference is not the
same as appeasement. The United States has made no concessions to Iran
comparable to Great Britain's mistake. Obama is not a Chamberlain. Romney,
if elected, will not be a Churchill. Iran is not Nazi Germany but is a very
serious problem for the U.S. However, the choice of words here needs some
If Romeny is Netanyahu's friend he might tell him, "Bibi, quit while
you are ahead and quit oppressing your brothers."
"CatsSomewhere in Time, UTI would think this would be an
advantage. The left in this country is so anti-semitic, they probably see this
as a problem."The left is so anti-semitic? Nice generalization
... I'm sure you love when people stereotype your Mormons as being racist?
You just did the same thing.
Re: Tekakaromatagi Dammam, Saudi Arabia"Bibi, quit while you are ahead
and quit oppressing your brothers."If Israel and her neighbors
signed a peace treaty they could turn their efforts into building a canal from
the Red Sea to the Dead Sea. It would provide an unending supply for
hydro-electric power.Unfortunately for Israel some of her neighbors
would only be satisfied if these descendants of Father Abraham were driven into
Rifleman, an interesting point of fact is both Jews/Israelites and Arabs are
descended from Abraham. Jews through his son Isaac, and Arabs through his son
Ishmael. I don't know anything about the good or bad effects of a canal,
but I do wish Israel's neighbors would leave her alone, and that Israel
would leave her neighbors alone, and everyone could "work and play well"
together. Unfortunately, I doubt that will happen.
It might be important to remember that there are Persians involved in the
middle-east three legged conflict. It is not just Abraham's family. That is
one reason there is no Islamic caliphate already, although the conflict between
Sunni and Shiite is also a major reason as is the traditional power of Kings. As for whether a Netanyahu/Romney link is good or bad for Israel and/or
the USA, I am sure there will be differences of opinion. I think we must stand
with Israel and that if the message was more clear, Iran may be less likely to
continue their warmongering. All denials aside, Iran is more like Nazi Germany
than can be just dismissed. After all, their leadership is on record as not
believing the reports of Nazi action against the Jews. With a Romney President
we will get both a clear message to the enemies of Israel, and a trusted
restraint on Israeli uni-lateral action.
The point about the Prime Minister and Mr Romney having a 36 year long
friendship is repeated time and again by Mr. Romney. His business experience in
building, working with and saving companies expands across the Globe! His
business dealing through Bain have allowed him to build real working
relationships with World leaders and business people from Asia to Europe and on
most continents on our planet. His knowledge is intimate and built from a
working, problem solving position. They were not built from the contentious
political ideology that President Obama has! One of President Obama's
greatest weaknesses is his negotiating ability! That is why he fails to bring
consensus with Republicans or even the Democrat run Senate and with World
leaders! He just does not know how to deal with them or find an agreeable
solution! Proclamations mean nothing. A President Romney will be on a higher
footing than most American Presidents have been on since he will have contacts,
experience being in and working in foreign countries. Mr. Romney knows how to
plan, execute and finish a plan or agreement. That is what we need Romney a real
leader. Not a title holder with no background!
Re: Utah Girl Vernal, UTThe Dead Sea is 1,388 feet below sea level
which would provide a water pressure of over 600 pounds per sq. inch. If this
pressure was harnessed it could be used to turn the area into a garden, generate
tremendous amounts of electrical power, and convert a vast amount of sea water
into fresh water for irrigation.Only problem is the fighting between
Israel and her neighbors will continue up through the battle of Armageddon.
Look for it to happen during the Millenium.

country, not a race or religion.I love my jewish brothers, but I detest
Israel's zionist regime building and the regional instability they provoke
daily with neighbors because they feel like the USA will do what they are told,
payed for by their lobbyist.Rifleman said: descendants of Father
Abraham. To add to vernal girl's answer Islam, Judaism, Christianity
and Mormon's (hahahha) are all decendants of "father Abraham"If you believe religious history...
All this really says is that Romney is a neocon. Why else would he want someone
like Dick Cheney as a running mate? You're just getting another GWB with
Re: ". . . friendship with Bibi Netanyahu raises eybrows"Whose eyebrows?Only those of leftists committed to the destruction
of decency and democracy -- here, as well as in the Middle East.Real
people? We're cool with it.
The media are concerned that Romney has a relationship with a world leader yet
they still have yet to look into Obama's relationship with Reverend
Jeremiah Wright. Typical.
"I’d get on the phone to my friend Bibi Netanyahu and say:
‘Would it help if I say this? What would you like me to do?’"Shouldn't our leaders be more independent? And what happens when
there is a change of power in Israel. Will our President be so closely
identified with one side that it creates problems? This isn't about being
pro or anti Israel. It's about being able to effectively manage relations
with a wide range of nations. And if Netanyahu wants war with Iran,
Romney will surely put us there. That would truly be a disaster, poisoning the
well in the Middle East far more than our overthrow of a democratically elected
government in Iran in 1953.
Re: Esquire Springville, UT"And if Netanyahu wants war with Iran,
Romney will surely put us there."Israel has no intention
whatsoever of waiting until after our elections in November to go after
Iran's nuclear weapon program. Defense Secretary Leon Panetta
"believes there is a strong likelihood that Israel will strike Iran in
April, May or June."It will have a negative effect on our oil
supplies here in the USA, with a corresponding negative effect on our economy.
That is when Mitt Romney and the Republicans will brush off Bill Clinton's
phrase "It's the economy, stupid" and remind the voters of
@ Rifleman, such an apologist for Romney. You miss the nuance. Even if Israel
attacks, that does not mean the U.S would commit itself to war. Unless Romney
is President. And the Republicans and Mr. Etch-A-Sketch have already
pointed to the economy, even though they were the ones who created the mess in
the first place. Your memory may be short, but mine isn't. I remember
McCain "suspending" his campaign because of the economic disaster that
had its genesis under your guys. The worst recession since the Great
Depression. Then you have the gall to blame someone else for it. Obama
didn't fail. The Republicans failed when they last controlled the White
House and since by trying to obstruct every effort to clean up their very own
I'm just glad Romney has a friend.
