Ivory sponsers the bill. Surprising! What dont you fellas understand about
federal lands? I'll leave it to the feds, instead of Ivory and his ilk who want
to profit from our lands. This land is your land, this land is my land, Your not
gonna steal it So forget about it.
These lands don't belong to Utah even though they are within the state. Utah is
not a sovereign nation. It's a state in the United States. Federal lands are
held in trust for the American people. If the welfare ranchers and welfare
drillers want land they should go buy it.
When this "message" is thrown out please send the bill to Mr Bishop,
Ivory and Herbert. (John Swallow too), I cant afford to spend my hard earned
tax dollars on a message.
Article: "Congressman Rob Bishop often shows colleagues and policy makers
from the East a map of how little taxable private property there is in Utah
compared to other states."I certainly hope Rep. Bishop doesn't
try this stunt with his Congressional colleagues Andy Harris (R-MD) or Jon
Runyan (R-NJ). Utah has more taxable private property than either of their
states. In fact, Utah has about the same amount of private property as both of
their states combined. Rep. Bishop's own congressional district alone has more
private property than four states (RI, DE, CT, HI) and maybe even a fifth (NJ).
Kane, Garfield, and San Juan counties, some of the loudest complainers when it
comes to federal lands, have combined private land holdings exceeding the land
area of Rhode Island. If the Utah economy is suffering, it is not due
to lack of taxable private land.
