    Yes, the PAC 12 will have the most technologically advanced broadcast facilities in college sports, the largest contract in college sports and its own sports network, but nothing, and I mean nothing compares to byu's HD truck.

    Let's never forget.

    Duckie (Mr. Blue "Exposure") is not gonna like this one bit. He may actually be shamed into making good on his promise to quit commenting on Ute stories.

    LOL!

    So the pac12 is trying to do what BYU has already done all by itself. Snd the pac12 is currently slated to be in less homes than BYUtv.

    Congratulations?

    Just like last year when ABC/ESPN ignored Utah, most of Utah's games will be relegated to subscription-only regional PAC 12 networks that only a few fans outside the PAC 12 will be interested in paying for.

    Why do you care? Because you can now see the game live from Tulsa when you are on your annual "business trip".

    lol at our little brothers who are so BYU-obsessed that they couldn't wait to compare themselves to big brother.

    @Y's little brother
    And yet here you are. That's ironical. Do you not see how hypocritical it is for you to call someone else obsessed while you are on a Utah article?
    I'm sure people were just dying to see the epic division 2 match up between the Bengals of Idaho State and the Cougars from BYU on BYUtv. Just because it's on tv doesn't mean people are going to watch it. Exhibit A: BYU's bowl game.

    @54-10

    Actually it is quite a bit more often than "annual", it is more like 5-6 times per year. Of course Tulsa is not a particularly great destination but I make the most of it by playing 18 holes at Southern Hills with my associate who is a member.

    @ Y's little brother syndrome

    "lol at our little brothers who are so BYU-obsessed that they couldn't wait to compare themselves to big brother".

    Let's see, who is obsessing about who? You do realize your on a Utah article right? Obviously this shows how obsessed you are and how much you idolize your big brother Utah. How quickly they forget that they got curb stomped 54-10 on ESPN for the whole nation to see. Utah owns BYU in football winning two straight (soon 3), 7 of the last 10 games, and 56-34-4 in the overall series. Go ahead and have your temper tantrum and begging for attention like little brothers tend to do. But, we'll give you one last beating before we say good bye and good riddance.

  • Duckhunter Highland, UT

    But of course more people do watch games that actually are on tv.

    LOL!

    I got to watch 8 of the 9 Utah Football games that were broadcasted here in Philadelphia last Fall, and now I'll get to see all 13? That just went from "good" to "phenomenal"! And I won't even have to watch my team lining up opposite of half a season's worth of WACey opponents. AWESOME! Thanks Larry Scott.

    "the pac12 is currently slated to be in less homes than BYUtv."

    Duckie, the difference is obvious. People with Pac12Net will actually want to watch a Pac12 game, instead of hunting for an obscure channel that features byu trying to win the Idaho State Championship.

    "I make the most of it by playing 18 holes at Southern Hills with my associate who is a member."

    So you were on a world-class golf course for 5 days after another epic beatdown? Right.

    @johninslc

    Well it may take you 5 days to hack your way through 18 holes but I can do it in about 4-5 hours.

    Also left SLC on Sunday morning and returned Wednesday. Not quite 5 days.

    I'm going to have to call DirectTV about my service.

    The HD on the BYU channel is not all that great. About as clear as the old Mtn channel.

    Duck, for the Y fans in my household, please tap into some of your connections, can you have them tune up the truck or something?

    Sportsfan:

    I know all you cougie fans will be glued to Pac12Net in late November next year for a shred of solace--hoping against hope for CU to assuage the sting of the y suffering yet another September beatdown.

    On the other hand, I'm pretty sure no self-respecting Ute fan will even care about watching your team try to repeat their WAC/Idaho state championship.

  • NightOwlAmerica SALEM, OR
    Feb. 18, 2012 12:40 p.m.

    Uhh how do you compare a one team network to a conference network BYU fans? There is no comparison. Stick to your HD truck that will eventually be retrofitted into a taco wagon or burger & fry broiler on wheels.
    And you have not even taken the time to look at the actual plan itself.

    "I'm going to have to call DirectTV about my service."

    You're obviously either not watching the HD version of BYUtv or your DirectTV signal is messed up, because the BYUtv HD channel I'm watching is every bit as good as ESPN HD, in fact, even ESPN was impressed with BYU's state-of-the-art television facilities saying they felt like they were back in Bristol when the visited BYU last fall.

    JohnInSLC

    Don't kid yourself; the Utah trolls are compelled to watch EVERY BYU game just so they can find something to whine about.

    The sting of BYU losing to Utah was mitigated by the joy of finishing, once again, in the Top 25; something Utah fans seldom get to enjoy.

    As for watching Utah on whatever PAC 12 regional channel they happen to land on, the vast majority of BYU fans couldn't care less about your bottom dwelling team.

    You're just jealous that BYU doesn't have to depend on the good graces of the PAC 12 to have BYU's games televised nationwide on ESPN and/or BYUtv.

    ELEVEN of BYU's 13 games last year were broadcast on ESPN/ESPN2/ESPNU. BYUtv is simply a nice little fallback for BYU fans to watch replays of the games they can't watch live.

    ESPN/ESPN2/ESPNU > subscription only PAC 12 network

    "As for watching Utah on whatever PAC 12 regional channel they happen to land on, the vast majority of BYU fans couldn't care less about your bottom dwelling team".

    If your talking about Utah's football and men's basketball team, they will appear on the Pac-12 National Network if they're not picked up on ESPN or Fox. The Pac-12 regional channels are for the olympic sports and woman's sports.

    @ TheSportsAuthority

    "You're just jealous that BYU doesn't have to depend on the good graces of the PAC 12 to have BYU's games televised nationwide on ESPN and/or BYUtv".

    Relying on the Pac-12 is going to bring Utah $23 million for ESPN and Fox revenue plus an additional 10 million for Pac-12 Networks revenue. This deal is almost quadruples what BYU makes as an IndyWACer. Plus Utah has a better slate of home games and a November schedule that isn't a snoozer like what the Cougies have.

    --

    You know how ridiculous that sounds? We are dependent on ESPN for showing our games to begin with. If BYU was so great we would not be boasting and bragging about an ESPN contract, and would have BYUtv front and center for everyone to watch.

    "ESPN/ESPN2/ESPNU > subscription only PAC 12 network"

    TSA:

    Tsk, tsk. Evidently you are unaware that ESPN is a NOT vailable for free, and that to get it anywhere one has to have a paid "subscription" of some sort. The same goes for BYUtv outside the KBYU broadcast area.

    The only difference outside the PAC12 area is how much one is willing to pay to watch quality football in November; instead of having to watch the Y again try to win the WAC/Idaho state championship.
