Seems that more and more the judiciary is over riding the will of the voters.
The legislate from the bench mentality is frightening, every American should
stand up and take notice before our right to vote becomes useless.
@dawgdeeluxOnce again the courts are not writing laws they are determining
if the laws passed regardless if passed by popular vote or the legislature
violate federal law or the constitution, that is their job It's way past
time for this legislating from the bench talking point went away, it fails on
every logical level.
@dawgdeelux 9:58 p.m. Aug. 31, 2014No "legislation from the
bench" is happening. When the people or their representatives enact a law
that is in compliance with the US Constitution, the courts uphold it. When the
people or their representatives enact a law that is not in compliance with the
US Constitution, the courts strike it down. That is how it has always been.
That is how it still is. That is how things are supposed to work. Nothing has
changed.Kudos to the judges and to the courts for doing their job
the way it is supposed to be done.
@ dawgdeeluxWhat are our courts for if not to rule on whether a law
is constitutional? No, a more accurate conclusion might be that the laws that
have been whittling away at a woman's right to choose are now bumping up
against the Constitution.
It sure is difficult to be born in America!
@moutain man Accordining to the CDC less then 1.4 perecent of
pregnancies in the US end in abortion.
@ Intervention. "Over a third of all pregnancies are unintended and about a
fifth end in induced abortion." (Wikipedia). So with you human beings are
only percentages? Just bad luck for the 20% I guess! To bad they didn't
have a say in the "choice".
@mountainan Three things One, I just checked wiki and they state the
rate as .17% Two, you sight wikki (and incorrecytly at that) and
intervention sights the CDC, who do you think we should take seriously? Three, your comment "So with you human beings are only percentages?"
Presumes we all agree with your definition of when life begins.
Tolstoy. I have no idea what you are talking about. I rechecked Wikipedia (the
correct spelling) and nothing you quoted from them was mentioned, nothing! There is replicating human DNA, unique to that individual, present at
conception. When DNA replicates, life has begun! When DNA stops replicating, the
organism dies. That's not my opinion that's science! Just bad luck
for all the humans who had someone else make their choices for them, right? And by the way its SITES that are quoted not "sights" (as you said)
and I do take life seriously and so should you and not just your own!
@mountanman Actually no you are wrong again, sceince makes no claims to
when life begins or ends it is purely your opinion.
